Age Group Coach

 The position will include responsibility for coaching and teaching in our Age Group Program in Mesa, Arizona.  Currently we utilize Kino Aquatic Center and Skyline Aquatic Centers for these training groups. The ideal candidate will have a passion for swimming and the ability to communicate well with swimmers, coaches, and parents.  They must possess the knowledge and ability to implement a skill and technique based swimming program.  The specific job duties will include:

  1. Direct, supervise, and coach the age group program.
    1. Monday through Friday appx 4-7 PM
    2. Saturday 7-11 AM
  2. Establish seasonal training plans for the age group program and directly coach this practice group each day.
  3. Integrate and work with the entire Team at swim meets and team functions.
  4. Coaches meetings each week
  5. Swim meets, averaging 5 days per month (Coaches share meet sessions)
  6. Serve as a lead site coach when schedules require.
  7. Attend all scheduled practices and maintain regular communication with head coach.
  8. Responsible for group and team communications. Team News once per week and monthly newsletter
  9. Lead parent meetings and informational sessions. Seasonal group meetings and once per season with individual parents/swimmers
  10. In charge of meet entries and all phases of meet communication for swimmers for the age group
  11. Track Swimmers Progress and chart development
  12. Innovate on training programs and competition design

 JOB PREREQUISITES: The successful candidate requires a background in coaching and/or participation in competitive swimming. A minimum of 3 years coaching, teaching or leading at the age group or senior levels is required. All Safety Training for Swimming Coaches certifications are required. Passing the USA Swimming background check as well as a club background check is required. The ability to work positively with all age-group athletes is required. Must be proficient in Team Unify, Hy-Tek team and Meet Manager programs or ready to learn these immediately, as well as Microsoft Word and Excel.
