Job Description

Position Title:Business Development and Operations Manager

Reports To: Director of Swimming

Classification: Full Time, Exempt

Compensation: Base Salary (commensurate with experience) plus commission. Competitive Benefit package.

Purpose:

The Jersey Wahoos Swim Club is currently looking for a dynamic Sales/Marketing professional to fill the newly created position of Business Development and Operations Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Serve as the face and voice of Jersey Wahoos in our local and regional swim community

  2. Lead efforts to increase overall membership and participation across all programs that Jersey Wahoos offers.

  3. Oversee the Sprint Lane (retail/web) store, ensuring our members needs are met. Achieve revenue and profit targets for both internal & external sales goals

  4. Design and implement a strategy, collateral and content, to support the above responsibility through effective use of Social Media Platforms and newly identified marketing mediums.

  5. Manage and review all service providers/vendors contracted to perform work related to the daily operations of our facility.

  6. Perform the role of direct liaison to our General Membership and manage any water time not occupied by the Swim Team or Lesson Programs.

Role Requirements:

  1. Successful candidate will have 1-3 years’ experience in a sales and/or marketing role.

  2. Associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience preferred.

  3. Experience managing both a team of people, and/or large projects required.

  4. Prior retail experience, working or participating in a sports organization and/or a passion for swimming will prove to be extremely helpful.

  5. Candidate should be detail orientated, poses a strong work ethic, exude a positive energy and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

  6. The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of people from our swimmers to our Board of Directors and everyone in between.

  7. Proficient with MS Word and desktop publishing software
