About Us: Fidalgo Pool & Fitness Center is a nexus for our community, fulfilling our mission statement: "Fitness, Friendship & Fun." We provide a range of aquatic programs and activities in addition to our expanded fitness center. Our patrons range in age from 6 months to 95 years old. Fitness, social connections, new skills, swim lessons. High school swim teams, as well as our in-house team, Masters, yoga and land-fitness classes, a fully equipped gym. We consistently receive high marks from our customer base. They appreciate the staff, personal attention and putting their needs first.

A Day in the Life of an Executive Director

The Executive Director is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and strategic planning at Fidalgo Pool & Fitness Center. The Executive Director will be working closely with managers to properly staff their teams. The Executive Director is also responsible for overseeing other departments and preparing required items for board meetings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the Board of Commissioners, management, staff, and the general public.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience developing program budgets and managing budgets
  • Demonstrate people skills
  • Experience with Payroll and Human Resources

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience as an Executive Director
  • State Statutes
  • Aquatic/Fitness Industry experience desired
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors/Commissioners
  • Familiarity of Red Cross CPR and First Aid Staff Training requirements
  • Patron outreach
  • Effective Problem Solver
  • Capital Campaign or Fundraising Experience
