CSSC Head Coach
Salary Range $65,000 - $80,000 /yr
Conejo Simi Swim Club(CSSC) is a year-round competitive swim club seeking an experienced, motivated individual for the position of Head Coach. This knowledgeable individual will be responsible for directing and overseeing all aspects of training and competition for our growing program with a wide variety of backgrounds and ages. This individual must have the ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with staff, swimmers, volunteers, and program participant parents. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve personal success.
CSSC has a long history of supporting athletes in the sport of swimming in Simi Valley, California. Our team consists of swimmers from beginning level age group athletes to Senior level and everything in between. Our team trains at one location in Simi Valley, at Rancho Simi Pool.
CSSC is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization under the direction of a parent volunteer board of directors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Promote and encourage an educational, safe, and inviting experience for all participants in pursuit of growth and excellence
Develop and oversee training programs for all age groups in conjunction with group lead coaches
Supervise and collaborate with a dedicated coaching staff
Manage day-to-day operating issues.
Plan team practice schedules and meet schedules, including team and coaches’ travel, coach scheduling, meet entry assignments, and other meet administrative duties.
Attend all scheduled swim meets, swim practices, meetings, and team functions.
Travel to away meets when necessary.
Coordinate online meet entries (Team Unify) for all age-group meets.
Acts as the liaison between USA Swimming, CSA Swimming, Swim Coaches, Parents and swimmers.
Ensure that all practices are conducted in a professional manner according to CSA and USA Swimming Safe Sport requirements
Provide guidance and support to athletes during the college recruiting process
Attend board meetings providing updates on staff and group progress by the membership.
Strong background in competitive swimming with coaching experience as head or assistant coach (USA Swimming team preferred).
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with staff, swimmers, parents, Board members, vendors, and the community.
Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Understanding the balance of training for distance and sprint, taper, and dry-land, for all age groups.
Ability to oversee the swim program and to achieve the club’s mission.
Enthusiasm and passion for the development of young athletes, at all skill levels.
College degree preferred (exercise science, teaching, or related field a positive).
Knowledge of Team Unify and the Hy-Tek software.
USA Swimming background check and USA Swimming certified coach.
Current CPR, First Aid, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, Safe Sport certifications and member in good standing with USA Swimming.
