Job Description

Position Description   As the Aquatics Director, you will be working in a brand new facility and helping build a team of highly trained, energetic professionals committed to providing the BEST service in the swim school industry.   

Essential Job Duties 

Hiring qualified and trainable individuals:

  • Continual Recruitment of quality Instructors and Lifeguards to ensure lesson schedule requirements are met
  • Ensure all Onboarding requirements are completed 

Training of Swim Instructors: 

  • Facilitation of entire training program for swim instructors utilizing the SafeSplash curriculum and training videos.  
  • Insist on the high standard of teaching requirements of SafeSplash + SwimLabs Swim School 
  • Detailed management of training schedules to make sure that training requirements are met  

Instructor Review Program: 

  • Scheduling and management of Quarterly Review process, which includes management of the Peer-to-Peer program 
  • In collaboration with the General Manager, conducting and communicating annual reviews for all instructors 
  • Must be able to critique employee performance and communicate feedback effectively  
  • Must be able to identify employee deficiencies and provide supplemental training   

Ongoing Education: 

  • Promotes continuing education and development of instructors 
  • Communication of training provided by Corporate or development of material needed by local staff -Should have knowledge of current competitive swimming techniques   

Staff Culture: 

  • Development and continuation of positive work environment for all staff that maintains exceptional lesson quality and outstanding customer service. 
  • Maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment 
  • Developing a team like atmosphere that encourages instructors to collaborate and learn from each other 
  • Implementation of team building activities that lead to employee retention  

Manage Front Desk/Office:

  • Maintain Employee Manuals-Answer phones and greet all people entering the facility with a smile
  • Enroll students in classes either by phone or in person, using SafeSplash software, SRS
  • Create and maintain a cleaning schedule for facility to ensure a healthy and attractive environment 

Manage Staff:

  • Closely monitor Staff Schedule to ensure all lessons are covered-Keep substitutions to a minimum and incentivize staff to work scheduled shifts
  • Maintain and approve timecard tracking for payroll-Ensure all required certifications are maintained and filed for staff 

Poolroom and Equipment Room Management: 

  • Assist with ongoing maintenance of all poolroom and equipment room operations including cleaning, and chemical usage. 
  • Maintains pools according to local health department requirements  
  • Keeps the poolroom clean and operational to high SafeSplash + SwimLabs standards

  • Interpersonal skills 
  • Coached for a minimum of 2 years 
  • Effective communication skills 
  • Passionate about swimming 
  • Background in swimming 
  • Undergraduate degree preferred 
  • Previous management experience
