South Carolina Swim Club

The South Carolina Swim Club (SCSC), a 501(c)3 charitable organization, is searching for a Senior Coach to support our club’s philosophy and create an environment to develop our top 15-18 athletes to a national level. The program of 300+ swimmers operates out of 4 pools in the greater Charleston, SC area; 2x 50-meter pools and 2x 25-yards pools. The candidate will answer to the Head Coach and be responsible for designing and implementing daily training, communication with athletes and parents, meet entries, and coaching at meets of our Senior Gold group. A strong candidate must be able to foster a training and competition environment that is safe, objective, inclusive, positive, and character-building for athletes and staff.

Job Qualifications:

  • College Degree (preferred) 
  • 5+ years swim coaching experience
  • Knowledge of current NCAA Swimming and recruiting policies and procedures 
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Operates well in a collaborative work environment
  • Computer proficiency, including email, Internet navigation, Microsoft Office software, Hy-Tek, and TeamUnify 

Full-Time position, with benefit eligibility 

Compensation proportionate with experience

Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a phone, see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels, outdoors and on the phone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand you clearly; the physical readiness to lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height; and to bend, to stoop, to sit on the floor, to climb stairs, to walk and to reach overhead.
