As an Aquatics Specialist you will ensure that our facility has lifeguard services, provides quality swim instruction, and supports the efficient operation of the aquatics area. The Lynch/van Otterloo YMCA located in Marblehead provides full-service swim programs for ages 6 months & up with a variety of programming options including swim lessons, swim team, adaptive inclusion programs, aqua exercise, leadership development, and lifeguard training. On a regular day, you will provide direct service through attentive lifeguarding, ensuring the safety and well-being of all swimmers at indoor and outdoor pools, provide quality private and group swim instruction, and create a warm and welcoming environment responding to member inquiries. In this role, you will implement YUSA swim lesson curriculum providing progression through the aquatics program for youth participants and communicate regularly with parents and members.
To thrive in this role you have proven leadership experience and exemplary customer service skills to ensure the satisfactory experience of participants and the regular return of members. You have experience assessing the skill level swimmers and are able to provide direction in maintaining the safety of the pool. To be successful in this role you've instructed youth in an a structured or educational setting and are able to clearly communicate both verbally and physically how to progress through swimming skills.
