COHO Swim Club (Deerfield, IL) – Lead 10&Under Coach

Year-round part-time (IMRF – Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund/benefited position)

Job Position:

The COHO Swim Club, a year-round program of the Deerfield Park District in Deerfield, IL is looking to fill the position of Lead 10&Under Coach.

The ideal candidate will oversee coaching all 10&Under swimmers from novice to State level. The position may also involve assisting with coaching 11&Over swimmers.

The position will require working weeknight practices and some weekend practices/meets.

The position will involve training and supervision of assistant coaches for the 10&U groups.

The position will work out of an office at the Sachs Recreation Center, and coach practices at Deerfield High School, and Deerspring Pool (summer only 50-meter outdoor pool).


  • Undergraduate college degree preferred
  • Two or more years of coaching; age group coaching experience preferred
  • Current USA Swimming Membership in good standing, which includes CPR/AED, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, Criminal Background Check, Athlete Protection Training, Concussion Protocol Training, USADA Coach’s Advantage Tutorial and Foundations of Coaching 101 & 201
  • ASCA certification preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required


Pay is based upon experience at a competitive hourly rate. The right candidate would be expected to work an annual minimum of 1000 hours, with the opportunity to work up to 1500 hours, with an IMRF (Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund) qualification. IMRF is a "multi-employer public pension fund" that administers a program of disability, retirement, and death benefits for employees of local government in Illinois. Expenses for educational/professional growth opportunities may also be covered by the park district.
