The Wiregrass Aquatics Club is seeking a Head Coach to develop and implement a year-long competitive swim training program for Wiregrass Aquatics Club swimmers. The team is a non-profit club operating on Fort Rucker, AL in MWR facilities, serving primarily young swimmers, ages 7-14 that are new to competitive swimming. This is an independent contract position for approximately 10-15 hours per week, plus meet attendance approximately three times per season.
Key responsibilities include:
Plan and execute team training program and practices based on age and skill level, and swimmer evaluations for new members and swimmer advancements
Select appropriate meets for team attendance, manage meet entries and provide on-deck coaching during meets

The Wiregrass Aquatics Club (WAC) is a non-profit organization that was started to better serve the swimming needs and interests of the youth in the Wiregrass area of Alabama. WAC is a operated by a volunteer Board of Directors. While Waves practices are held on Ft. Rucker in pools run by Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare & Recreation (DFMWR), the club is open to military and civilians alike. The club follows all of the rules and regulations mandated by DFMWR and the Ft. Rucker installation.
WAC is a USA Swimming team and all members of the club must also be members of USA Swimming, competing in Short Course season (25 yards/meter pools) during the school year and Long Course season (50 meter pools) during the summer months. USA Swimming is the National Governing Body for the sport of swimming. The Waves fall under the Southeastern Swimming Local Swimming Committee (LSC) of USA Swimming, consisting of TN, AL and Northern FL.
