Metro East Titans Swimming (METS) is seeking a full-time Head Senior Group Coach to join our swim team in coaching senior group swimmers, overseeing direction of developmental programs, and handling administrative duties, and conducting senior group workouts.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan and execute training for senior group athletes under the advisement of the Head Coach
2. Assist developmental level coaches in some capacity with execution of training
3. Administrative duties including but not limited to meet entries, club correspondence and drafting workouts
4. Attend all assigned local and travel competitions
5. Maintain all required USA Swimming and Ozark Swimming certifications
6. Season planning for senior group program and advise developmental coaches on season planning (swimming/dryland)
7. Supervise and lead assistant coaches
8. Attend staff meetings and team functions (banquet, team-building activities, et cetera)
9. Participate in Ozark Swimming planning activities and seek board position with Ozark Swimming, if possible
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. 4-6 years’ experience in swim coaching
3. 1-2 years head age group experience
4. USA Swimming certifications
5. Previous competitive swimming experience
Skill Requirements:
· Strong understanding of the sport of swimming and current rules and regulations, including up-to-date stoke mechanics and training techniques
· Strong work ethic, organizational skills, computer skills, and the ability to interact professionally
· Ability to motivate and work well with others; develop team spirit; inspire others to excel
· Communicate effectively and timely with co-workers, swimmers, and parents, as needed
· Demonstrate good decision-making skills and willingness to follow directives from the Head Coach
· Be positive, energetic, flexible, passionate, and team-oriented
· Have or obtain, prior to start date, all relevant USA Swimming coach certifications, which will be reimbursed
· Must have a desire to learn and continue coaching education
· Have ability or be willing to learn basic working knowledge of Team Unify software, Daktronics and Colorado timing systems, dryland equipment
· Be able to sit, stand and walk as needed. The position will require walking primarily on a level surface for long periods throughout the day.
