Job Description

Essential Job Responsibilities
- Be present at pool at all times
- Record incidents concerning the pool
- Manage Assistant Aquatics Director and team of lifeguards/swim instructors
- Teach new lifeguards how to instruct swim lessons for campers
- Perform pool maintenance duties and complete water logs
- Know and understand each swimming skill level and the skills that are taught
- Group supervision of campers with attention to: behavior and group management, health and safety, security, and personal and skill development
- Inform site director of any concerns regarding the health and safety of the campers.
- Communicate with clear, concise, and grammatically correct written and oral language in all aspects of professional interaction with campers, their families, peers, leadership team and the larger community.
- Demonstrate the ESF Core Values and Virtues of Character (Gratitude, Respect, Trustworthiness, Effort, Kindness, Positivity, Resilience, Community) in camp daily
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Previous experience working with children in a supervisory or administrative capacity
- Performance management and facilitation experience preferred
- 2-4 years administrative/leadership experience required
- Teaching certification preferred
- Must have all certifications: Current American Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid Certification, Current American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Certification; Current local Pool Operator's Certification. (Lifeguard Instructor Certification preferred)
- Typical hours are:3 days/week: 7:30am-4:30pm, 2 days/week, 8:00am-6:00pm; Monday - Friday. Start and end times may vary depending on location and camp.
- It is understood you will complete all trainings and pre-employment credentials required by ESF and the state you are working in.
- Push/pull, lift and carry a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds across campus. Work outside, upright, and mobile for six (6) to eight (8) hours per day
- Respond to emergency situations which may include running (up to 1 mile in some cases) and ascending stairs without undue exertion
- Maintain the "ESF Look" at all times
Reporting Relationships
- Reports directly to and takes direction from the Site Director.
