Responsibilities for age group coach position: The age group coach is responsible for coaching two separate groups of children ages 9-10 & 11-12. Practice times during the school year are from 3:45 pm until 7:30 pm weekdays (Monday through Friday), and from 8:00 am until 11:30 am on Saturdays between the two groups. Practice times during the summer are from 7:45 am until 11:30 am from Monday through Saturday. Participation at swim meets and other team activities is also required. We are looking for a coach that will teach the children a high level of swimming technique and instilling good work ethics, striving for success at the age group level while challenging the swimmers to improve. The coach must keep track of each group’s attendance, do their swim meet entries and be responsible for the day-to-day communication with the parents. The coach must report to the Head Coach and must be able to design the season plan and workouts based on the club’s philosophy. Requirements for the position: The individual should be a high energy, positive person, displaying good communication skills, working well with swimmers, parents and other coaching staff. The coach should also be familiar with using HY-Tek Team Manager, Meet Manager and Swim Manager. ASCA certification level 3 is required and United States swimming level 2 preferred. The Coral Springs Swim Club provides a comprehensive approach to age group and senior competitive swimming. Emphasis is placed on fundamental skills, stroke technique, physical conditioning, productive work habits, character growth, healthy competition and most of all, enjoyment of the sport.
Competitive swimming helps to develop discipline and encourages self-esteem. Novice swimmers, as well as future Olympians, are provided venues and coaching at all levels to ensure that swimming is fun as well as rewarding.
