Head Developmental Coach Job Description:
757swim, located in Williamsburg Virginia, is looking for a Head Developmental coach. This role is more than just “on deck” hours. You will be part of the leadership team helping to set the direction for our young age group swimmers.
Under the direction and guidance of the Associate Head Coach, this role will lead the 757swim 10 & under age group program. This is a leadership position where you will manage and train the 10 & under coaching staff as well as coach swimmers.

Management Responsibility:
● Assist in the design of the seasonal and LTAD for the Age Group Program that fits within the scope of group goals and objectives
● Provide Leadership and Instruction to the 10 & Under Age Group coaches and swimmers
● Manage 10 & Under Age Group Coaches to ensure they lead and communicate effectively
● Conduct monthly 1:1 meetings with the 10 & Under Age Group coaches providing guidance and an opportunity for learning and feedback
● Help lead and facilitate the weekly staff meetings along with the Associate Head Coach and CEO/Head Coach
● Assist in the Age Group Coach schedules
● Ensure regular communications with parents at the Age Group Level
● Work closely with the Associate Head Coach to ensure administrative and coordination needs and requirements are met both internally and externally
● Maintain compliance with USA Swimming coaching standards as well as ensuring all age group coaches are compliant
● Follow all USA Swimming policies including SafeSport as well as ensuring all age group coaches are compliant
Dry-side Responsibilities (for the specific groups you coach):
● Manage group meet entries
● Send out weekly group update e-mail
● Conduct both group parent meetings and individual parent meetings as needed
● Recruit swimmers from summer league by attending summer league meets and conducting clinics
● May be required to complete other duties as assigned by the Head Coach / CEO
Wet-side Deck Responsibility: (for the specific groups you coach):
● Lead 2-3 groups for 10 & Under athletes, and assist with other groups throughout the team
● Administer daily workouts and maintain group attendance
● Attend meets as assigned (1-2 per month)
● Supervise and maintain a positive practice and meet environment
● Assess new swimmers during tryouts
● Manage developmental circuit
Qualifications:
● ASCA Level 2 Certification or similar coaching experience (minimum 2 years)
● Coaching experience in competitive swimming
● Current USA Swimming Coach Member certifications and good standing
● Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
