Job Description

Pittsburgh Elite Aquatics (PEAQ), with over 400 registered swimmers and a dynamic coaching staff, is the largest club in Allegheny Mountain. PEAQ is a growing, competitive swim club for swimmers ages 6-18 with locations at Canon McMillian HS, Chartiers Valley HS, Upper St Clair HS, and the University of Pittsburgh. PEAQ is a Safe Sport Recognized member of USA Swimming and offers a year-round competitive swim program for swimmers of all abilities. This position is specifically for the PEAQ South Hills locations.

The Associate Head Coach will be responsible for the following:

  • Coaching assigned groups across all South Hills locations, primarily with age group
    swimmers
  • Working directly with head coach
  • Managing age group coaches across all sites
  • Working with our site-specific lead coaches to implement assigned workouts
  • Working with swimmers to improve their training habits and technical skills
  • Coaching at swim meets as scheduled
  • Attending mandatory coaches meetings/training sessions as scheduled
  • Communicating with age group parents regularly
  • Conducting age group evaluations and placements

Requirements:

  • College swimming experience preferred
  • At least 3 years coaching experience
  • Availability early mornings/afternoons/weeknights/weekends
  • Applicants will be required to obtain PA Clearances to work with children and must pass a USA
    Swimming Background Check
  • Applicants must be able to obtain USA Swimming Coach Membership prior to coaching
    Current First Aid/CPR certifications
  • Proficiency with Team Unify email and Microsoft Office

Salary – FT competitive salary; opportunity for high school and middle school coach for the right candidate, with additional compensation

Time Commitment – This position is full-time and runs for both short course and long course. Ideal candidate will be available for morning workouts; 5 days/evenings per week for practices and at least 1-2 weekends per month for meets.
