The swim academy instructor is accountable for providing a safe, fun, and inclusive environment to all swimmers, parents, and fellow instructors they interact with.

Lifeguard, First-Aid, & CPR Certification (ability to obtain within 1 month)
Key Responsibilities
Ensure a safe pool is a fun pool through positive & inclusive environment
Follow lesson curriculum guidelines, but also adapt to meet individual swimmers needs
Maintain record of swimmers development
Enhance swimmers aquatic self-esteem through positive reinforcement & skill enhancement
Maintain professional relationship & communicate effectively w/ parents, staff & members.
Attend all in-service training & meetings as required.
Knowledge/Skills
Minimum of 15 years of age or higher
Strong team player approach
Passion for working with and teaching youth swimmers
Must demonstrate a positive attitude & reliability
Mandatory Lifeguard, CPR, AED, and First Aid Certifications.

Kingfish Rhode Island (KING-RI) is lead by Matt Emmert, Head Swimming Coach at Roger Williams University and Jillian Emmert, Early Childhood Teacher at St. Michaels Country Day School.
Kingfish Rhode Island provides all levels of swimming, from learn to swim, to National Qualifiers, as well as Masters & Tria-athletes. We have a diverse staff of Recreational, USA, High School and Collegiate Coaches, who are eager to provide opportunities for swimmers at all levels to train and compete year-round.
