Las Cruces Aquatic Team seeks an Assistant Coach for a part-time position in sunny Las Cruces, New Mexico. The team has approximately 90 year-round swimmers from developmental through elite. We are seeking an Assistant Coach to primarily work with our developmental and age group swimmers, fostering a positive learning environment while helping our swimmers hone their skills and fulfill their potential.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Competitive swimming experience
• Coaching experience or experience providing swim lessons
• Current USA Swimming coach member in good standing (or willing to fulfill all requirements within two weeks)
• Available weekday evenings
• Available occasional weekends for swim meets
• Demonstrates high energy to create an upbeat experience for developing swimmers
• Engages in open, two-way communication with parents and swimmers
• Acknowledges requirement to adhere to all USA Swimming Safe Sport policies

Las Cruces Aquatic Team Environment:

• Our team is run by a 501(c)(3) non-profit, parent-run board who collaborates with and provides support to the Head Coach and assistant coaching staff
• Professional development opportunities available, to include continuing coach education
• We currently train at two facilities, New Mexico State University (25 yard indoor pool and 50 meter x 25 yard outdoor pool), as well as the brand new City of Las Cruces Natatorium (50 meter x 25 yard indoor pool)
