General Function: To assist the head coach in ensuring that all Swim Team programs are started and finished as scheduled. Performs program to best of ability to achieve obtainable goals set by YMCA of Central Kentucky. Provides a sense of control during scheduled Swim Team programs. This will increase the safety of the pool for all participants, members, and their guest. The Assistant Swim Team coach will assist during emergency care in the event of an accident. Time will be spent assisting the head coach in preparing and organizing scheduled Swim Team programs. Time will be spent doing routine maintenance duties as assigned by the management.
Hours: Monday through Friday 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Know How: Minimum of current and valid, First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer and a YMCA Lifeguard Certification. American Red Cross Safety Training for swim coaches is strongly recommended. Position also requires excellent swimming skills plus a varied aquatic background. Candidate should be at least 21 years of age, have knowledge of Meet Manager program, and ability to provide good public relations with children and adults.
