Old Dominion Aquatic Club (ODAC) is on the hunt for talented Assistant Age Group Swim Coaches to join our thriving program in the picturesque Virginia Beach and Chesapeake, Virginia. ODAC is more than a swim club; we're a year-round competitive powerhouse with a rich history of success, and we want you to be a part of our journey!

About Us: Old Dominion Aquatic Club is a hub of excellence in competitive swimming. With over 300 active athletes and a tradition of success that includes athletes qualifying for US Open, Senior Nationals, and Junior Nationals, we've earned recognition from FINA and USA Swimming. As a financially stable program, we're committed to continuing our legacy of excellence.

What We're Looking For: We're in search of multiple Assistant Age Group Coaches to help nurture and guide our swimmers aged 6 to 14. While prior coaching experience and knowledge of aquatic and swim team programs are desirable, we welcome your passion, dedication, and drive, whether you're an experienced coach or a budding enthusiast.

Your Role:

• On-deck coaching of age group swimmers, focusing on stroke mechanics and competitive swimming proficiency.
• Introduction and instruction of fundamental training concepts.
• Guiding young athletes through monthly meet competitions.
• Creating a supportive environment that promotes teamwork, self-discipline, sportsmanship, and responsibility.
• Active participation in all scheduled USA Swimming meets.
• Room for personal and professional growth, with opportunities to work on other programs within the team.
• Join us in our mission to further establish the premier club swimming program in the Tidewater area of Virginia.

Coaching Requirements:

• Membership in USA Swimming.
• Successful completion of all required and approved USA Swimming certifications for swim coaches, including First Aid, CPR, Lifeguarding, and Safety Training. ODAC will reimburse coaches for the costs of USA Swimming membership and required safety courses.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Maintaining ongoing communication with parents via email and in-person.
• Monitoring athlete attendance.
• Timely submission of approved hours.

Compensation:

• Competitive hourly pay, with a minimum rate starting at $20.00 and potential for growth.
• ODAC Assistant Hourly Coaches are also compensated for their coaching duties during scheduled meet sessions throughout the year.
