JOB DESCRIPTION: HEAD SWIM COACH

The Aquatic Club of Enid (Aquatic Club of Enid Home (teamunify.com) is seeking energetic, motivated, and highly skilled applicants for a part-time, year-round, salaried Head Swim Coach position.

The Aquatic Club of Enid (ACE) is…

Swimmers representing ability levels from beginner to higher levels of USA Swimming. ACE is the only USA Swim club within a 65 mile radius of Enid, OK. Our mission is to develop the leaders of tomorrow through competitive swimming.

Top Responsibilities:

• Create a culture of excellence for the whole person development of both staff members/athletes.

• Developing our Jr. & Sr. Swimmers (Ages 13-18 and above) to be ready to compete at the State, Sectional, National & Collegiate levels.

• A Positive Team leader, ambassador and swimming subject matter expert.

• Create and promote a vision and strategy for growth.

• Long and short-term planning/scheduling for training and competition for all competitive levels.

• Experienced in management and/or oversight of swim team operations, including team billing, meet entries and registrations.

• Develop season and practice goals for all training groups with the assistant coaches (Age Group to Collegiate) to meet the program’s goals.

• Recruit, supervise, and mentor Assistant Coaches to ensure a reliable, cohesive, and positive environment with an emphasis on teamwork and personal growth.  Ensure appropriate coach coverage for practice sessions.

• In coordination with the Board of Directors, assist in the planning of home meets, team travel, team fundraising, and team social functions.

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders including, but not limited to, a monthly coaches report including all elements (template provided by the board) submitted no less than one week prior to the monthly Board Meeting.

ACE uses the Denny Price Family YMCA facility for a training pool.  Enid has somewhat recently built a new Convention Center, The Stride Bank Center (just two blocks from the pool) and is a key piece of what makes Enid a wonderful place for young families.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years coaching experience in a competitive swim environment.

• Extensive experience as a member of a competitive swim team will be highly valued.

• Ability to meet all USA/Oklahoma Swimming certification and coaching requirements (CPR, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, USA Swimming Background Check, Athlete Protection, First Aid, Concussion, etc.).

• Experience with implementing dryland training programs for swimmers.

• Experience in developing swimmers from entry level swimmers to Junior National and/or elite levels (preferred).

• Post-secondary Education (preferred).

Pay and Benefits:

• Starting at $18,000 commensurate with experience. Additional benefits and bonus incentives available.
