The Head Coach is responsible for the operation of the swim team including organizing, completing assigned tasks, communicating with parents, and working with swimmers. The Head Coach will also help guide assistant coaches in these areas.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervise the swimmers during practices, meets and any other swim periods.
Teach proper stroke techniques while coaching.
Handles all swim meet preparation.
Creates line-ups for all swim meets.
Assists with preparation, operation, and cleanup of home swim meets.
Works with all coaches on meet set up, and workouts for practice.
Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
Performs the job in compliance with District policies, and procedures.
Report’s maintenance problems to the Aquatics Supervisor.
May need to perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Perform all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of the Park District with specific attention to safe pool use during swim team periods.
Work as a team player with co-workers.
Must successfully complete and pass an in-water skills test and written examination on lifeguard skills and safety. Including swim 200 yds, retrieve a 10 lb. brick from 12 ft. of water, and tread water with hands above surface for 2 min. You will take the Starguard Certification Course.
Serves as primary user on Team Unify website.
Must adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Any other duties as assigned.
June-July swim team practice Monday-Friday 6:30am-10:15am (times vary for each age division)
Swim team meets will take place on Wednesday nights, and Saturday mornings. Schedule varies.
