Job Title: MAC National Elite Team Coach

Pay Grade:  P1/Full Time 

Reports To:  MISD Aquatics Director Status: Exempt

Location: Michael D Holland Natatorium

Primary Purpose:
Magnolia Aquatic Club and Magnolia ISD are searching for a dedicated, highly engaged, and passionate swim coach to work primarily with our MAC National Elite group.  This position will work under the direction of the MAC Head Coach and MISD Aquatics Director with the goal of building a cohesive team centered approach to leadership and humble performance at the highest levels.

Magnolia Aquatic Club is coach-led program, supported by parents, and owned by Magnolia Independent School District.  With a deep history of success, MAC has been a USA Swimming Club Excellence Gold, Silver and Bronze member multiple times.  Our incredibly active, 200+ member, competitive team practices out of the Michael D Holland Natatorium (40 meter indoor pool) and host multiple meets every year.  All MAC staff members are employees of MISD, have access to the incredible health insurance benefits, contribute to the TRS retirement system, and frequently receive annual raises and bonuses consistent with the educators of MISD.  


Qualifications:
Current coach member in good standing with USA swimming
ASCA level 4 or higher certification

Special Skills/Knowledge:
Deep understanding of swimming technique, training, and competitive strategies
Proficient in Team Unify website and app usage including: emailing membership, attendance, event selection and editing, specialized report generation, etc
Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Excellent communication skills (proper grammar, spelling, messaging, etc)

Experience:
USA Swimming Head Coach experience 3+ years
National level swimmer performance and meet experience of 3+ years

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Adhere to all Magnolia ISD and MAC policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
Manage MAC National Elite group (attendance, workout preparation, season plan, etc)
Plan and lead travel trips to Olympic Training Center every 2 years
Run/Assist regular morning practices throughout year
Foster humility and leadership balanced with performance within National Elite group
Cover groups for age group coaches randomly when an absence occurs
Regularly attend Gulf HOD (and Board if elected) meetings
Become a certified Meet Director and Lifeguard
Perform administrative tasks as assigned to help with natatorium and team operations
Availability to work flexible hours based on MAC team needs each season
Attend all scheduled staff meetings
Run special MAC small clinics throughout the year
Consistent communication with Aquatics Director
Assist in set-up and take-down tasks for all hosted swim meets


Professional Growth:
Yearly coursework through USA Swimming to maintain all certifications
Yearly ISD compliance courses


Working Conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stressful working conditions.  Lifting more than 30 pounds.  Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing.  Moving and connecting printers, touch pads, computers, consoles, and other meet set up equipment.
