Head Aquatics Club Coach

ROLE AND PURPOSE:

The role and purpose of the Head Aquatics Club Coach is to oversee the Swim Club.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Valid Texas Teacher's Certification is preferred
• Certified Pool Operator
• Lifeguard Certification

 Experience:

• Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience as a head swim coach or club coach is preferred.
• Experience in a successful swim/club program development.

 SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Strong oral and written communication skills with a background in basic computer functions
• Knowledge of overall operations of the AISD aquatics program and natatorium
• Ability to organize, manage, and make recommendations and evaluations concerning personnel, budget, and facilities
• Strong communications, public relations, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of State, District, UIL, USA Swim, and Federal Title XI governing athletics

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Develop the AAC as a program under the guidelines established by USA Swimming for all appropriate ages approved by the District.
• Developed and managed the AISD swim club, hired coaches, and provided a quality Arlington ISD club experience.
• Manage and oversee the AISD natatorium, which includes scheduling and coordinating timely maintenance and repairs with the Maintenance Department.
• Serve as a source of information to the community and District by disseminating positive goals and accomplishments for the AISD Swim Club.
• Responsible for performance evaluations of all participants in the program. Responsible for timely, appropriate feedback.
• Effectively manage all Swim Club finances, including assistant coaches' pay and participant fee records.
• Effective and timely communication with parents of club participants.
• Evaluate and provide feedback to club coaches annually.
• Create a structure for coaching/assigning coaching responsibilities for all club levels.
• Complete all required training/continuing education as USA Swimming & Arlington ISD determines.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
