Work with assistant coaches and Board to further the goals of POSA , assist in creating, coordinating, and implementing swimmer entry guidelines, and plan and schedule POSA training programs in consultation with other assistant coaches and the Board.
Coordinate the review and evaluation of all swimmers throughout the season.
Plan and implement a swimmer disciplinary policy consistent with the direction and approval of the Board.
Work with the assistant coaches and the Board to ensure open and effective lines of communication between coaching staff and POSA swimmers and parents. Respond to parents’ emails or other requests on a timely basis.
Work with the Board; assistant coaches; Carl Sandburg High School Aquatics Director, High School Coaches, and School District Administration; and any other personnel associated with any other venue used or potentially to be used for POSA events or practices in the future to coordinate, negotiate, and schedule pool time for POSA swimmers.
Attend scheduled Board meetings upon invitation.
Work with the Board to formally evaluate POSA Assistant Coaches
Work with the Board to recommend training (including, and as way of illustration, but not limited to, seminars, conventions, workshops) for POSA coaches.
Schedule and conduct coaches’ meetings as required to ensure the consistent, coordinated efforts of all coaches
Assist with and/or participate in all POSA fundraisers, banquet(s), picnic(s) or any other special activities or projects, unless excused by the Board.
Work with the Board to coordinate the recruiting of potential candidates for assistant coach or junior coaching positions.
Attend all swim meets (including at least 1 session of each ISI) in which POSA is participating
Attend the conference dual meet scheduling meeting; any other competition scheduling meetings; and any other meetings related to POSA competition, and schedule all seasonal dual meets for the POSA swim team.
Plan, Schedule, and Conduct practices for the POSA Age Group Programs.
By a date (or dates) provided by the Board, submit a list of ISI swim meets to the Board.
By a date provided by the Board, prepare and submit a proposed budget of necessary coaching hours, equipment, training programs, necessary hours at other venues for swimmer training, and any other necessary expense expected to be incurred in the operation of the POSA swim team for the current season.
Cooperate with the Board to determine the schedule, entry fees, and selection of coaches for intended periodic stroke clinics.
Operate under guidelines as established by the Board and conduct himself or herself in a professional manner while performing duties for POSA, including, but not limited to, conducting himself or herself in a manner consistent with all Codes of Conduct, bylaws, or other policies set by the Board or by USA Swimming.
