Help Wanted: Part-Time Coaching Staff Members for Old Dominion Aquatic Club

Old Dominion Aquatic Club (ODAC), the oldest year-round competitive swim team on the Southside of Virginia, is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated part-time and full-time coaching staff members. Join our team and contribute to the development of young athletes in a supportive, enriching, and dynamic environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in swim lesson instruction or year-round coaching is beneficial but not required.
  • An eagerness to learn, grow, and thrive in a team-oriented setting is essential.
  • Relevant certifications are advantageous but not mandatory. If not in possession of required certifications upon hire, candidates should plan to achieve them within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead age group practice groups for ODAC’s 12 & Under swimmers.
  • Focus on the development and refinement of strokes and specific skill sets.
  • Prepare swimmers for advancement to the senior level within ODAC.

Schedule:

  • Practice groups are offered 3-6 days a week. Based on the strengths of candidates, the program has vacancies in our 8&under, 9-10, and 11-12 practice groups.
  • 8 & Under groups: 3 or 5 weeknights a week for 45 minutes.
  • 9-10-year-olds: 6 days a week for 1 hour to 1.5 hours.
  • 11-12/Senior 3 groups: 6 days a week for 1 to 1.5 hours each night.

Location:

  • ODAC operates at two locations with 6-lane SCM pools:
    • Chesapeake, VA
    • Virginia Beach, VA

Compensation:

  • Hourly pay: $20-$25.
  • All professional expenses and training are funded by the club.
  • Professional development opportunities funded by the club.
  • Daily rates or per diems are provided for meet days/sessions.
  • Potential for full-time and salaried positions for the right candidates. If not immediately available, growth potential and advancement would be considered in a timely manner.
