General Information

The JCCNS Sea Serpents is a young, fast growing year-round team with approximately 115 swimmers, which includes a summer league team. We compete in both USA swimming and in dual meets throughout the year.  These past few seasons we had multiple top ten swimmers, zone qualifiers, and Sectional Qualifiers. Our Swim Lessons, J Swim Academy runs a robust swim lesson program, combining the best of Swim America and Red Cross. Lessons run 7 days a week and include group lessons, adult lessons, private group, and private / semi-private lessons. Most importantly our Swim Team is dedicated to maintaining a positive team culture.

Position qualifications:

·       Experience as a competitive swimmer

·       Experience working with kids ranging in age from 5 to 18

·       Knowledge of proper stroke technique and progressions

·       Exemplary customer service skills

·       Organized and attention to detail

·       USA Swimming Coach Certification or willing to obtain before first swim meet

·       CPR/AED & Lifeguard Certified

·       A minimum of two years prior swim coaching experience Preferred

·       Experience with Team Unify Preferred

·       Experience as a USA Swimming Meet Director Preferred

·       Willing to train the right candidate

 

Position Details Associate Head Coach & Swim Team Administrator:

 This position will be responsible for being our Pre-Senior Group’s lead coach and assisting with our Age Group and Senior Practice groups. (Running / assisting between 8-11 practices per week.) The position will also lead a couple dryland practices per week following our Swim Strong Programming. The position will lastly be responsible for coaching two or three Masters Swim Team practices per week. Schedule will allow for two full days off per week on non-meet weeks and a guaranteed one day off a week regardless of the meet schedule. 

·       Work with the Head Coach to create season plans / practices

·       Act as lead team administrator: Managing Registrations, tryouts and answering new swimmer questions.

·       Assisting the Head Coach will all Event Planning including but not limited to: Swim Meets, Banquet, Picture Day and Outings / Parties.

·       Assist with the planning and execution of travel trip swim meets, acting as a chaperone in addition to being a coach when needed.

·       Act as the lead for creating and planning multiple fundraisers throughout the year.

·       Act as a role model with professionalism and integrity at all times.

·       Continue to improve teaching and coaching skills.

·       Attend weekend USA and Dual meets home and away when assigned.

·       Step into Head Coach responsibilities when needed.
