Rushmore (Tsunami) Swim Team (RST), a USA Swimming age group swim club in Rapid City, SD, is seeking an inspiring, energetic, full-time Head Coach with excellent leadership, communication and team building skills, as well as technical expertise to coach and mentor our year-round team of approximately 120 athletes and six part-time assistant coaches. Additionally, in partnership with Rapid City, their Parks and Rec Department is seeking to hire the same person to serve in a part-time capacity to oversee and coach their masters’ swimming program ranging upwards 40 athletes. The masters position is offered as an opportunity; it is not required in addition to the RST HC position.
RST offers a competitive salary package commensurate the experience and education held by the applicant, with a base salary ranging from $45-55K. Rapid City offers a salary ranging from $7-10K. In addition to the base salary, the RST Head Coach employment package includes paid vacation, paid professional development, incentive pay triggered by membership growth and qualifiers to regional/national competitions, and travel expenses for meets. The potential for additional financial incentives may be available and will be negotiated when an employment contract is drafted.
Preferred start date is Sep 1, 2024. The position shall remain open until filled.

The Rushmore Swim Team (RST) aka Rushmore Tsunami is located in Rapid City, South Dakota. RST is an award winning instructional and competitive age group swim organization located in southwestern South Dakota, with membership spanning the greater Black Hills region to include Rapid City, Ellsworth AFB, Box Elder, Sturgis, Piedmont, Black Hawk, Hermosa, Hill City, Custer, and Keystone! RST has emerged from the merger of two age group swim clubs/teams in October of 2022, the Rapid City Racers and GREAT. The vision of RST is to be the premier age group swim team in the greater Black Hills and Rapid City metropolitan areas.
