Assistant Head Age Group Coach

The TYDE Swim Team is a competitive program of the YMCA Northwest North Carolina Association, is a dynamic and growing swim team committed to fostering excellence in young athletes. We provide a positive, educational, and healthy environment for swimmers of all ages. Additionally, along with its competitive edge, the TYDE Swim Team places a strong emphasis on the holistic development of its athletes. This approach encompasses physical fitness, mental resilience, and character building, ensuring that swimmers not only excel in the pool but also grow as well-rounded individuals.

Position Summary: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our coaching staff as an Assistant Coach and Head Age Group Coach. This role is extremely important, as the successful candidate will have a key role in the growth, technique, and overall development of our young competitive swimmers and lead swim practices for age group swimmers (6-12 years).

• Collaborate with the head age group coach to develop training programs and set goals for swimmers.
• Attend swim meets as assigned by the head coach.
• Provide feedback and guidance to swimmers during practices and competitions.
• Foster a positive and supportive team culture.
• Assist with administrative tasks related to team operations.

Qualifications:

• College degree preferred.
• Coaching membership in good standing with USA Swimming.
• Background check, Red Cross certification in Lifeguard Training, CPR, and First Aid.
• Previous coaching experience, preferably at the club level.
• Knowledge of TeamUnify (preferred but not required).
• Ability to instruct swimmers of all ages on stroke technique, strength and conditioning, and goal setting.

Starting Date: no later than 09/01/2024

Compensation:

·        Salary: $43,880 per year.
