Head Age Group Coach

Position Summary

The role of the Head Age Group Coach encompasses dual responsibilities as the year-round Head Age Group Coach at Ladera Oaks and as the Head PSA Summer Swim Team Coach. Responsibilities include leading daily practices, developing seasonal plans aligned with developmental goals, supporting team planning and events, managing swim meets, and maintaining regular communication with team members and parents.

Job Responsibilities

This coach will serve as the Ladera Oaks Head Age Group Coach throughout the year and the Head PSA Summer Swim Team coach in the summer.

●       Head Age Group Coach Responsibilities

○       Lead three age group practices daily.

○       Develop and implement a season plan for age groups that include monthly goals aligned with the team's long term development philosophy.

○       Assist the head coach with overall team season planning, planning team social events, and group move ups.

○       Attend and coach USA Swim Meets on the weekends an average of 1-2 meets per month.

○       Communicate with parents on deck and through email.

○       Manage the Pre-Team program, about 20 swimmers.

○       Collaborate with the aquatics staff to promote safety.

○       Assist with club-wide events approximately 5 times per year.

●       Head PSA Coach Responsibilities

○       Lead practices daily.

○       Assist head coach in supervising and managing Junior Coach staff.

○       Host and run 2-3 PSA home dual meets each summer.

○       Send weekly communications to the PSA Swim Team through team emails.

○       Prepare weekly dual swim meet lineups.

○       Organize parent volunteer sign ups for weekly dual meets.

○       Attend PSA board meetings every other month.

○       Serve at the Meet Director for the PSA Championship meet.

Desired Qualifications

●       Current USA Swimming coach certifications.

●       Coaching swimming experience at the club of collegiate level.

●       Strong communication, organizational and administrative skills.

●       Passion for working with and developing swimmers of all ages.

Practice Location

Ladera Oaks swim team practices at Ladera Oaks Swim, Tennis, and Fitness Club located at 3249 Alpine Road, Portola Valley. Daily practices are held at our beautiful outdoor facility with two pools - a five lane 25 yard pool and an eight lane 28 yard pool.

Benefits and Compensation

$70,000 - $75,000 annual salary plus benefits

There is an option to teach private swim lessons for additional pay.
