Castle ROCK Swim Team is seeking a dynamic and experienced Age Group Coach to lead our 10 & Under Group.
Responsibilities:
- Promote a positive, fun, safe and encouraging atmosphere that aligns with our team philosophy.
- Develop and implement a training plan focused on strong foundation of proper technique and skills.
- Prepare and lead daily workouts building on athlete development and fostering growth in the sport, including taking attendance.
- Assist and administer goal setting with athletes.
- Attend all meets as requested by the Head Coach, assist athletes/parents in choosing events and promoting healthy competition.
- Assist with group movements, team tryouts and swimmer assessments for group placements.
- Manage training group in all aspects of athletic development, administrative responsibilities, parent concerns and communications.
- Writing and sending weekly emails to practice group families.
- Interacting in person, by phone and via electronic communication with parents and guardians of swim team members.
- Assist Head Coach in any way necessary including, but not limited to, facilitating other training group practices as needed, meet setup/breakdown, administrative duties as needed.
- Attend all staff meetings and training group functions as required.
- Participating in agreed-upon team activities and organizational related affairs, as directed by the Head Coach and/or the ROCK Parent Board of Directors.
- Enforcing Castle ROCK Swim Team policies, USA Swimming Code of Conduct and Safe Sport policies.
- Demonstrate professional, respectful, courteous and effective communication with athletes, parents, other coaches, facility and meet staff.
- Desire to continually learn and grow as a swimming coach.
- Position consists of approximately 20 hours a week which encompasses on-deck coaching and dryland time, administrative duties and swim meets for the training group.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience and knowledge of competitive swimming is required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Age Group Coach.
- Enthusiasm for swimming, promoting proper stroke technique and positively motivating young swimmers.
- USA Swimming Coach credentials in good standing including current CPR, First Aid, Coaches Safety and Safe Sport certifications.
- Current CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard Training or equivalent certifications.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Familiarity with Word and Excel.
- Basic knowledge of Team Unify, Team Manager and Google Suite.
- High School Diploma
- Associate’s Degree or higher preferred
Preferred start date: Aug 26, 2024. The position will remain open until filled. Compensation commensurate with experience and job duties.
