The Town of Herndon boasts a unique balance of strong sense of community and being a next generation small town and each employee is pivotal in providing exceptional services to our citizens. The Town has an immediate need for a Swim Instructor in the Parks and Recreation department. As a Swim Instructor, you will teach swimming lessons at the town’s indoor aquatic facility.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Lesson plans: Developing and implementing lesson plans
• Instruction: Demonstrating proper swimming techniques and providing individualized instruction
• Feedback: Encouraging students and providing feedback to help them improve their skills
• Safety: Ensuring a safe and clean environment for students, enforcing pool rules, and responding to emergencies
• Communication: Communicating with students, parents, and supervisors
• Record keeping: Maintaining accurate records of student attendance and progress, and reporting accidents and incidents to management
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience teaching learn-to-swim classes to youth and adults in indoor aquatic center or outdoor facility
- Strong swimmer and passionate about water safety and teaching others love of aquatics.
- American Red Cross First Aid/CPR and Water Safety Instructor current certifications
- Bi-lingual in English/Spanish highly desirable.

• 814 Ferndale Ave (Herndon Community Center)
• Due to the nature of a government providing services to the public all duties of this position are required to be fulfilled at the designated worksite in the town. No remote work is available.
Hours:
Monday-Thursdays 5pm-7:30pm; Saturdays 9am-12pm
