About the Organization

Evolution Racing Club (ERC) is a Silver Medal Club recognized by the USA Swimming Club Excellence program. Located in South Orange County, ERC is part of the Southern California Swimming LSC and serves as the official competitive swim team of Evolution Swim Academy, a multi-location learn-to-swim company.

ERC has achieved significant success recently, with two swimmers qualifying for the 2024 USA Olympic Trials, including one who advanced to the semi-finals in the 200m butterfly. Additionally, ERC has produced a Winter Junior National champion, multiple qualifiers for both Winter and Summer Junior Nationals, strong team representation at Futures swim meets, and small- and medium-sized team championships at Sectionals.

ERC operates across three locations in South Orange County: Santa Margarita Catholic High School (SM), Ladera Ranch, and Nellie Gail Ranch.

We are seeking a Head Age-Group Coach to lead our age-group program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for developing young athletes and fostering a competitive and supportive training environment.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills with swimmers, families, coaches, and the administrative team.
  • In-depth knowledge of age-appropriate strength and conditioning workouts for swimmers aged 11-14.
  • Expertise in technique development and targeted training strategies.
  • Proven success coaching swimmers with SCS Summer & Spring Champs qualifying times and up to Sectionals standards.
  • Experience mentoring and motivating elite athletes to achieve their best.
  • USA Swimming certification in good standing.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of head age-group coaching experience at a formal USA Swimming club.

Responsibilities

  • Lead training sessions for our top 11-14-year-old swimmers, including strength and conditioning workouts.
  • Attend up to 6 water & dry land practices per week + additional team activities.
  • Attend swim meets throughout the season and participate in the setup and take down of ERC-hosted swim meets.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to swimmers at the Santa Margarita (SM) location.
  • Communicate effectively with the coaching staff.
  • Oversee the closing of the SM facility at the end of each practice.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $30-50 / hour based on experience 
  • Private Lessons: Coach swimmers in a private lesson format for additional compensation.
