We're seeking a Head Lifeguard to join our team.  Our new Aquatics Center opened June of 2018!   As our new Head Lifeguard you will:


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and supervise lifeguards
  • Instruct 10 to 15 hours a week of Aquatics Classes and Swimming Lessons
  • Work with the Aquatics Director to maintain the appropriate water chemistry in the pools ensuring a safe aquatic environment for our patrons
  • Lifeguard 15-20 hours a week.
  • Be involved in an ongoing program and evaluation process to determine the relevancy of existing programs and the development of new offerings
  • Train and develop Aquatics Staff
  • Work with the Aquatics Staff in creating and maintaining uniform standards for Aquatics classes
  • Practices good judgment while working with the Aquatics Director in organizing and maintaining a safe and effective aquatic environment with respect to leading part time Aquatics Staff in their roles


Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Regular monitoring of the Aquatics Centers to assure the safety of all users, diagnose potential problems, setting of high standards for cleanliness and appearance and regulate appropriate use of facilities
  • Working with the Aquatics Director to assure appropriate coverage during all operating hours
  • Implement systems that assure inventory and supplies are available for proper functioning of facilities (i.e. pool chemistry, testing equipment, lane line, kickboards, bar bells etc.)


Required Qualifications:


  • Must be a minimum of 16 years of age
  • Current accredited Lifeguarding Certification or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire


Preferred Qualifications.

  •      Prior experience lifeguarding or teaching swim lessons
  •      Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire

Physical Requirements:

  • Candidates applying for this position should be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted repeatedly throughout the workday 
  • Frequent walking and demonstrating and assisting with exercise movements; bending, stretching, lifting, pushing, pulling and squatting are movements performed daily
  • Ability to be in water for long periods during the day
