Job Summary:
The MHSF Head Coach will lead the coaching staff, serving as the primary liaison
between training groups, parents, and club management. This role fosters a
collaborative and goal-oriented environment, ensuring the development and success of
all swimmers and the professional growth of Junior and Assistant Coaches.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee all MHSF training groups, setting goals and designing effective training
protocols.
• Provide age-appropriate, technically proficient coaching to swimmers of all skill
levels.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with swim team parents, ensuring clear
and effective communication.
• Mentor, guide, and supervise Junior Coaches, fostering their professional
development.
• Manage swimmer and meet databases using Team Unify or Swimtopia software.
• Attend swim meets, assisting with planning, organization, and post-event
cleanup.
• Collaborate with MHSF management, offering insights and recommendations for
program improvement.
• Actively participate in staff meetings and ensure adherence to MHSF policies and
guidelines.
Qualifications:
• Competitive swimming experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively with children of varying skill levels and foster a
positive, supportive environment.
• CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (must be current).
• USA Swimming Coach Membership, including Athlete Protection Training.
• Safety Training for Swim Coaches (STSC).
• Advanced coaching certifications (e.g., ASCA Level 2 or higher) preferred.
