PART TIME SENIOR COACH
LOCATION: COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS
ABOUT THE AGGIE SWIM CLUB (AGS):
The Aggie Swim Club is a year round 501c3 non-profit age group swim program in College Station, Texas. We are members of USA Swimming and a part of Gulf Swimming LSC. We have 200+ competitive swimmers practicing at 2 locations. Our primary location is the Texas A&M University Natatorium. Our mission is to enhance and develop the heart, mind and soul of our swimmers for success in and out of the pool.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking an energetic, experienced, passionate and professional individual to coach our senior level swimmers. This coach will work with the entire senior group staff and club management on a daily basis.
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 15-20 hours per week August through May; up to 30 hours per week June and July
- Develop and execute comprehensive and challenging in-water and dryland programs
- Monitor and evaluate swimmers’ progress and adjust training plans as needed
- Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents and swim club management
- Enhance swimmers’ technique, endurance and competitive skills
- Foster a positive and motivating environment that encourages athletes to reach their full potential
- Complete meet entries in a timely basis ensuring that event selection is appropriate
- Conduct group and individual goal meetings with senior swimmers seasonally and long term
- Attend meets – usually 1 per month – some out of state travel expected
- Maintain all required coaching certifications in good standing
- Assist club management with social media presence
QUALIFICATIONS:
We are looking for a coach with a deep passion for the sport of swimming and a commitment to developing and motivating athletes. Expertise in current technique development and targeted training methods as well as a thorough knowledge of stroke mechanics, starts, turns, and finishes and the ability to analyze and correct technique is required. Candidates must have strong leadership qualities to build team cohesion, set goals, and create a positive team culture. Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain positive relationships with athletes, coaches, and parents is required.
Candidates must have 4+ years of senior level coaching experience at the club or collegiate level. The candidate will share our mission, pursue our team vision, adhere to our organizational values and assist our swimmers in achieving our program outcomes. All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
COMPENSATION:
- Commensurate with experience
- Reimburse for USA Swimming registration and any fees associated with certification
- Per diem for all out of town meets provided
