Assistant Swim Coach

Club: Pine Richland Aquatics

Location: Pine-Richland High School, 700 Warrendale Rd., Gibsonia, PA 15044

Reports To:  Head Coach

General Summary:

PRA is a year-round USA Swimming competitive swim team and aquatics program including a swim school and USA Diving developmental program. PRA operates under the Allegheny Mountain Swim LSC.

PRA is looking to fill the position of Assistant Coach. Looking for individuals with excellent leadership and team building skills to support our growing membership and coaching staff. We are seeking energetic individuals with a passion for developing young athletes.

The overall objective of the position is to continue to guide and grow young athletes in a USA Swimming program as well as promote enthusiasm around the sport of swimming for all levels of development under the guidance of the Head Coach. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Serve as an Age Group coach to elementary and/or middle school aged athletes.
  • Develop the assigned group’s training structure with the assistance of the Head Coach while following all USA Swimming guidelines and requirements
  • Plan assigned group practices
  • Develop and execute workouts with daily, weekly, monthly, and season goals and objectives in mind, striving to help athletes hit targets by providing a training program designed to help meet those needs.
  • Foster team spirit by exhibiting and maintaining a positive attitude and actively planning and participating in team events, including meets, celebrations, and fundraising activities.
  • Demonstrate a cooperative, prompt, and respectful communication style with swimmers, parents, and staff.
  • Complete entries for athletes prior to deadlines
  • Assist with meet entry assignments and other meet administrative duties
  • Develop land-based functional activities to increase gross motor skills and core strength
  • Act as a role model for swimmers
  • Must have or be willing to obtain all USA Swimming certification and coaching requirements (CPR, Water Safety Training for Swim Coaches, USA Swimming Background Check, Athlete Protection, Lifeguard, First Aid, Concussion, etc)
  • Assist with meets as indicated on the schedule on the team website and be willing and available to assist with setup and tear-down for home meets
  • Serve on deck for at least ten meet sessions for the short course season and at least five sessions during the long course season as agreed upon with Head Coach
  • Complete timesheets on time as designated by Head Coach and/or Board

Hourly Rate: Up to $25/hr commensurate with experience and will be determined by the Board of Directors.
