Assistant Coach

The Coeur d’Alene Area Swim Team is seeking an Assistant Swim Coach to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have experience coaching competitive swimmers of various age groups, fostering a positive and challenging environment, and contributing to the growth and development of athletes at all skill levels.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage age group swim practices focusing on technique, conditioning, and race prep for meets
• Provide on-deck instruction during practices, including drills, technique refinement, and stroke development
• Offer feedback and constructive criticism to swimmers to help improve performance in a positive manner
• Create a supportive and positive team culture that encourages individual growth, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Serve as a role model for swimmers in terms of behavior, attitude, and work ethic.

Qualifications:

• Previous coaching or swim lesson experience, preferably in age group competitive swimming
• Experience working with swimmers of various age groups, particularly those in the developmental to competitive stages.

Certifications:

• CPR, First Aid, and AED certification plus Safety Training for Coaches (or willingness to obtain).
• Background check and SafeSport certification required (can be completed upon hire).

Work Schedule:

• Part-time position, with practice sessions typically held in the afternoons and evenings, and occasional weekend competitions
• Exact hours will vary depending on the team schedule and meet dates.
• Flexibility to work with a range of age groups and training needs.
