Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Assistant Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess collegiate swimming experience and have a strong background in training athletes at a high level, particularly those competing at the sectional level.
Responsibilities:
● Technical Training:
○ Provide expert coaching in stroke technique, starts, turns, and race strategies to help athletes excel in their performance.
○ Design and implement training programs specifically tailored to develop and enhance the performance of high-level swimmers.
● Athlete Development:
○ Monitor and assess athlete progress, offering personalized feedback and guidance to facilitate improvement.
○ Cultivate a positive and supportive atmosphere to motivate athletes to reach their full potential.
● Meet Preparation & Support:
○ Assist in preparing athletes for competitions, including providing warm-ups, race strategies, and mental preparation.
○ Attend meets to support athletes, providing guidance to enhance their performance.
● Communication & Collaboration:
○ Maintain open and effective communication with athletes, parents, and coaching staff to coordinate schedules, provide updates, and address concerns.
○ Collaborate with the head coach and other assistant coaches to ensure a cohesive and successful training program.
Desired Qualifications:
● Collegiate swimming experience with a strong understanding of high-level competitive swimming techniques.
● Previous coaching experience at the club level, particularly with swimmers competing at the sectional level.
● Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to connect with athletes, parents, and staff.
● Ability to create and implement effective training programs to maximize athlete performance.
● Enthusiasm for mentoring and developing young athletes to help them achieve their goals.
● Certification from USA Swimming or equivalent coaching credentials are preferred.
Schedule:
● This is a part-time position with flexible hours based on practice and meet schedules.
● Availability for morning or evening practices, weekend meets, and occasional travel may be required.
