ASSISTANT HEAD COACH Hampton Dolphins
HAMPTON DOLPHINS, an Allegheny Mountain Swimming club, is seeking an inspiring and energetic assistant head coach with excellent leadership, communication, and team building skills to support the club's membership and established coaching staff. You will aid in the development of a program that will create a solid foundation for our athletes all while driving the continued success of our swimmers. This is a salaried position commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities include:
· Establishing an environment that fosters positive team attitude while teaching self-discipline, sportsmanship, responsibility, and respect
· Developing and Coordinating with the head coach to implement a swim training program that is technically, age, and developmentally appropriate, for both water and dryland training, which allows swimmers of different abilities to reach their highest potential while considering all learning styles.
· Communicating and working effectively with the head coach, other coaches, parents of swimmers, and the board of directors regarding all matters of the club.
· Demonstrating mature judgment, reliability, availability, and ethical behavior including punctuality, confidentiality, positive and constructive feedback, and the ability to function in a multi-task environment
· Setting appropriate goals for groups and individual swimmers
· Creating workouts
· Administrative work done at the direction of the head coach
· Working evenings Monday-Friday starting at 3pm. Some Saturday mornings.
· Being a positive role model, maintaining high ethical and moral standards, and adhering to AMS Swimming Coach’s Code of conduct
· On deck supervisor of the fall and spring lesson program (Saturdays)—approximately 14 weeks total between the sessions
· Work meet sessions as directed by the head coach
· Possibility of working as the assistant for the high school team-additional compensation
Requirements:
o ● Be willing to obtain all USA Swimming certification and coaching requirements (CPR, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, USA Swimming Background Check, Athlete Protection, Lifeguard, First Aid, Concussion, etc.)
o ● Be able to motivate swimmers of all abilities to achieve their full potential.
o ● Have excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Start Date August 2025 with some flexibility.
Compensation:
Ranging from $33,000-37,000 additional compensation from swim lessons and high school position

The Hampton Dolphins is a board governed team outside of Pittsburgh, PA. We have 120 swimmers, 40 masters and a small lesson program that runs in the fall and spring.
