Job Description

Pueblo Swim Club (PSC) in Pueblo, CO has an immediate opening for a motivated and enthusiastic Head Swim Coach. To provide fun, safe swimming sessions appropriate to the ages and abilities of the children, aged 5 years and up. To plan and deliver the swimming sessions, encouraging improvement within the various ages and ability levels, and maintaining the highest safety standard at all times. The head coach is expected to be fully involved in other duties and sports activities as part of the staff team.

We are an age-group based, non-profit, year-round, USA Swimming competitive swim team of 60+ swimmers that is managed by a Parent Board of Directors.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations:

  • Current swim coach certification with USA Swimming
  • Maintain current certifications (CPR, Coaches Safety, Background, APT)

Qualifications:

  • 3-4 years of coaching experience of a diverse age group of swimmers.
  • Able to manage a multi-site program and direct staff.
  • Work evening/weekend hours and be willing to travel, driver’s license.
  • Strong core values that include respect, trust, and integrity.
  • Cooperative and respectful communication style with swimmers, parents, and co-workers.
  • Personality that motivates swimmers.
  • Knowledge of programs including Hy-Tek, Meet Manager, Team Unify, etc.
  • Meet director experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software and social media applications preferred.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Plan and develop engaging and level appropriate workouts.
  • Create a safe, positive swimming environment, including bully prevention.
  • Coach age groups in practice and at designated meets.
  • Create a calendar of swim meets to attend throughout the year and encourage participation.
  • Maintain and pursue continuing education related to all athletes at his/her level about proper stroke technique.
  • Perform administrative duties for the team, including team membership and communication with parents and swimmers.

Salary up to $36,000 depending on experience.  Possibility for Assistant Coach role at CSU Pueblo.
