The Assistant Director assume functional and administrative responsibility for the direction and coaching of the Makos USA Swimming Program. Serves to provide coverage for programs, facility, and special events as needed.
Job Description
- Responsible for the recruitment and athletic development of 100+ athletes, develop daily practice plans, direct assistant coaches and serve as the point person for the program attending swim meets home and away.
- Direct and manage the daily operation of the aquatic center & Recreational Sports Center while manager on duty.
- Assist with pool chemistry when assigned and assists with Special Event setup and teardown.
- Supervisory Duties of students are training, assign and direct work, coach and/or counsel.
- Responsible for making employment recommendations and conduct performance evaluations.
- Must provide problem solving skills for varied situations, requiring significant analysis and interpretation with multiple solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of one year experience in an aquatic facility supervising programs, events and a large staff.
- Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for the professional rescuer and First Aid from the American Red Cross.
Desired Qualifications:
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor, American Red Cross Instructor Trainer, American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer, Certified Pool Operators License.
