Middle School Swim Coach

Montgomery Bell Academy (Nashville, TN) is seeking a middle school swim coach for a part-time, stipend position. The middle school team of approximately 25 students in 7th and 8th grade competes from mid-October to the beginning of February (11-12 weeks of practice and meets). The coach will plan and lead practices, organize and submit meet entries, and handle communications with students and parents, with the support of an assistant coach and the head coach of the varsity program. The coach will also drive a school bus/van to transport students from campus to practice. Practices are Monday-Thursday, 4-5 PM, and swim meets (approx. six per season) are typically scheduled on Saturday afternoons.

Qualifications: Competitive swimming experience; previous coaching experience (preferred); experience with Hy-Tek team management software (preferred). The ideal candidate will be a confident leader and effective communicator, who is knowledgeable and passionate about the sport of swimming. Candidates should be capable of independent problem-solving, motivated to build a positive team culture, and prepared to hold students accountable to a clear code of behavior and good sportsmanship.

Requirements: Must complete lifeguard certification, sudden cardiac arrest certification, concussion certification, and CPR/AED training.
