Poseidon Swimming Inc. is searching for a dynamic, experienced, highly motivated individual
to join our program as a full time Age Group coach.

excellence.
Job Summary: We are seeking an enthusiastic and supportive individual to lead and inspire our
Age Group II training group, consisting of swimmers aged 12-13. This role will focus on
supporting the growth and development of our swimmers while emphasizing stroke technique,
teamwork, and a positive team environment.
Responsibilities: On-Deck Coaching Age Group II as primary responsibility.
- Support daily training sessions for the assigned Age Group II, emphasizing stroke
technique, starts, turns, overall technical development and assisting other groups as
assigned.
- Encourage a positive and supportive learning environment to foster a love for swimming.
- Assisting in implementing age-appropriate training plans and offering individualized
feedback to each swimmer.
Swimmer Development:
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating swimmer progress, providing constructive feedback
and positive reinforcement.
- Support in introducing and reinforcing proper technique progressions and fostering a love of the sport.
Communication & Parent Engagement:
- Assist with weekly communication, providing updates on training, upcoming events, and
swimmer accomplishments.
- Support in maintaining open and effective communication with parents, addressing
questions and concerns as needed with the understanding that our parents are
customers.
- Assisting in communicating practice and meet information.
Meet Support:
- Attend designated competitions, providing coaching and support.
- Assist with meet entries and meet preparation, including warm-ups and race strategies,
and provide feedback to athletes after each race.
Team Collaboration:
- Support our “team” coaching philosophy through support in working collaboratively with
other coaches and staff to ensure the overall success of the Poseidon program.
- Assisting with other groups as needed.
Desired Qualifications:
- Competitive swimming experience with a strong understanding of competitive swimming
techniques. 3-5 years of coaching experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with young
athletes and fellow staff members.
- Ability to support clear and engaging communication for parents.
- Patient, supportive, and positive coaching style.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Passion for developing young swimmers and fostering a positive team environment.
- Current USA Swimming Coach certification.
Schedule:
- Full time position. Salary and benefits, health, dental and retirement option.
- Practices typically occur in the afternoons 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM Saturday mornings, and attendance at designated weekend meets.
