Job Description

Full-Time Benefits Eligible position.  

Seeking passionate individual who wants to grow the aquatic program through a hands on approach through educating current and future staff. 

  • Educational Level:
    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields  
    • Sport management, Physical Education, Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation, Community Health, Health Promotion or related field; and at least one year related experience.  
  • Must hold certification as (copies of certifications must be included in application):  
    • Lifeguard, WSI (Water Safety Instructor), Trainer level certification in swim lessonsCPR/AED/First Aid 
    • Certification and/or ability to train swim lesson and lifeguard instructors 
  • Preferred: CPO or AFO certification.  
  • Knowledge, Skill and Ability: Ability and willingness to teach swim lessons, teach / train swim lesson instructors, coordinate special community events at the CAC, teach aquatic fitness classes, supervise and direct daily operations of the CAC, including staff.   
  • Work Hours: Work flexible patterns through the work week including weekends and evenings 


Administrative duties to assure a safe and efficient aquatic program and facility. This includes direct supervision of personnel and programs as well as taking an active role in those programs as an instructor, lifeguard, cashier, and maintenance person when necessary.  

Primary Goal: Recruit, hire, train, schedule, teach and supervise staff, lifeguards, swim lesson instructors, and aquatic instructors in developing and managing revenue producing aquatic programs. Lead the department’s safety training and emergency action plans. Provide the overall leadership for the CAC staff in the development and implementation of aquatic programs and services for CCS and it’s community.  

Demonstrate a direct positive impact on the continued effectiveness and the quality of aquatic programs offered at the CAC. This effectiveness can be measured by: 1) The perceived quality of programs and services by aquatics and the community.  2) The number of activities running in our community for youth, teens, and adults.  3) The increased enlistment of new volunteers and members. 4) Stakeholder feedback and observation data
