Job Description
The Roosevelt Island Marlins are looking for a swim instructor who has experience teaching young children ages 3 - 18 years old. The right candidate will be fun, energetic and able to engage with children.
We are looking for someone who can:
- Promote a fun, safe, and team-oriented environment
- Identify age- and skill-appropriate drills for each age group to include stroke, starts, turns, etc...
- Plan and run practices for each age group
- Maintain control and safety of swimmers
- Provide stroke technique instruction to beginning, intermediate, and advanced swimmers
- Get in the water to fine-tune stroke mechanics
Requirement:
1. Must have a water safety/ lifeguard current certificate
2. ASC level 1 as minimum
4. Must know how to teach all swim strokes
5. Responsible and punctual
6. Availability weekday afternoons 4-6pm and Saturdays 9-11am
7. Must be able to work in conjunction with the Head Coach, Coaches and Program coordinator; receive and provide feedback to Head Coach and Program Coordinator
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour depending on qualifications and on-site interview

The RI Marlins Swim Club is a non profit organization dedicated to providing affordable swim instruction to swimmers of all ages. A second aim of our organization to provide an opportunity for qualified swimmers to participate in competitive swim meets throughout the New York City and State. We strive to teach children to be successful swimmers through the mastery of aquatics as their self-confidence, concentration, and discipline. We are a member group of Metropolitan Swimming, our Local Swimming Committee (LSC). Metropolitan Swimming is part of USA Swimming, the national governing body for competitive swimming in the United States.
