FUNCTION:
The Director of LSC Events and Championships is responsible for organizing and managing all LSC-wide events and all levels of MASI Championships annually. The Director of LSC Events and Championships also manages LSC event equipment for events and Championships. See the position description below for a more detailed listing of responsibilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong written, verbal, telephone, public relations, and organizational skills with emphasis on customer service ideals.
- Two years related experience and/or training in event management and operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Marketing and brand management experience
- In-depth knowledge of event management and operations. Working knowledge of the USA Swimming Rules and Regulations.
- Advanced information technology skills (MS Office, event streaming, website design, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to lift equipment
- Become a USA Swimming non-athlete member

GENERAL DUTIES:
- Facilitate the mission of MASI by conducting first-class championships and events while enhancing the MASI brand by creating an unrivaled experience.
STRATEGIC APPROACH:
- Facilitate comprehensive information sharing through MASI website and social media to Clubs, Swimmers, Coaches, Officials, Parents, and Spectators.
CHAMPIONSHIPS:
- Responsible for Championship site procurement and contract management. (14 meets in 2025)
- Setup and utilize an online entry process (through USA Swimming’s OME software) for all MASI Championships to streamline the registration process.
- Responsible for Championship set-up with onsite branding.
- Order awards, event gifts, and all necessary equipment.
- Oversee online streaming during Championships.
- Ensure budget projections are met by maintaining control of spending and documentation of receipts for event operations.
- Assist in coordinating Championship staff and volunteer responsibilities and assignments.
- Secure headquarters hotel and discounted rates for participants in MASI Championships utilizing MASI approved travel partners.
- Serve as leader for MASI Team in the Eastern Zone Championships and the Tri-State Cup.
COMMUNICATION/MARKETING/BRAND DEVELOPMENT:
- Responsible for press releases promoting Championships and detailing the results.
- Manage MASI interns in promotional campaigns as Championship entry deadlines approach.
- Help manage content on LSC’s website, www.maswim.org, and social platforms: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
ADMINISTRATION:
- Oversee the administrative analysis of all events and Championships.
- In collaboration with MASI Clubs, update contractual requirements as a Championship host for MASI.
