The Buffalo City Swim Racers is in search of an Administrative Manager to assist with administrative operations of our swim club. This organization has both Learn to Swim and Competitive Swim programs. We’re looking for a highly organized and efficient professional with administrative experience and a basic understanding of swim clubs, though we are willing to provide in-house training. The successful candidate will provide assistance with all administrative activity, including those in accounting and customer service. BCSR is looking for an individual who is comfortable working on tasks both independently or with employees and/or leadership and who can contribute to the overall improvement of our club’s efficiency and productivity metrics. The selected candidate will be required to pass a USA Swimming Background Check, Athlete Protection Training and adhere to all USA Swimming and USOC Safe Sport protocols. Responsibilities Include:   Business With input of club management conduct semi-annual evaluations of personnel and provide guidance about potential improvements in each employee’s performance Serve as the liaison between membership, club management and the Board, communicating needs and concerns so they can be handled expeditiously Implement customer service standards and evaluate employees based on their ability to meet those standards Provide oversight as Club Safe Sport Coordinator Maintenance to all aspects of the Club including but not limited to Content Management Systems, website, social media, etc Assist the Business Manager in grant writing/fundraising Coordinate calendars for staff, practices, meetings and events Write monthly reports and a newsletter column for the web site Attends all staff meetings and board meetings on request Verify all required employee certifications and maintain staff records Forward inquires to appropriate leadership Pending approval of the Executive Director, place supply orders on behalf of the organization   Coaching Aspects Writes workouts a week at a time, one week in advance Keeps a neat and organized workout log available for inspection by the head coach at any time Keeps daily attendance Arrives 15 minutes early for all workouts and begins workouts on time Wears team issued gear and maintains an overall professional manner Workout design includes a researched dryland program which is age and skill appropriate Creates workouts designed to develop swimmer for the next group Helps swimmers set performance goals Helps swimmers set outcome goals Includes quality stroke work as part of the workout plan Maintains control of all swimmers in workout Has authority to dismiss a swimmer temporarily-contacts head coach as soon as possible Supervises locker room before and after practices   Swim Meets Selects individual’s meet events and reviews with each swimmer Recommends individual’s meet schedule (with parent approval) Has prompt attendance on all scheduled meet days-15 minutes prior to warm-up time Structures individual and group warm-ups and ensure safety that complies with USA Swimming warm-up procedures Attends pertinent meetings at all meets Wears team colors and maintains a neat appearance Speaks to each swimmer before and after each event Observes all swims Records split times for all swims   Other Supports Head Coach/ Executive Director and team policies Conducts himself/herself with the highest moral and ethical standards Follows the chain of command starting with the head coach to board president to board of directors Establishes an environment that fosters positive team attitudes, encourages self-discipline, sportsmanship and responsibility Promotes the organization Maintains current USA Swimming coach membership including completion of all required safety courses Maintains full compliance with USA Swimming Code of Conduct Positive role model to athletes Seek and attend educational opportunities offered by the organization or beyond   Skills Proven track record of on-boarding, training and motivating administrative employees Excellent communication, time management, leadership and employee development skills Documented computer skills- Microsoft Office, Quickbooks   Preferred A valid driver’s license and use of a vehicle for travel between sites Prior management experience Lifeguard Instructor certified Knowledge and working experience with athletic programs and teams Grant writing experience Experience with social media, website support, Hytek Team Manager software and Team Unify software SALARY:  Commensurate with experience Cover letter, resume and references can be sent to:                                                                                                           Buffalo City Swim Racers                                                                      Attn:  Executive Director                                                                      651 Delaware Avenue                                                                      Buffalo, NY 14202                                                                                    Or                                                                      coachmike@buffaloracers.org

The Rockaway YMCA is seeking for an experienced individual who will provide direction and leadership to the Aquatics department. The Aquatics Director will follow all YMCA of Greater New York and Department of Health aquatics standards to maintain safety for all aquatics programs in and around the swim area, and will lead by example to promote and demonstrate professional demeanor to aquatics staff.  Responsibilities: Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate all aquatic staff. Conduct in-service training as required by the YMCA association. Develop, implement, track, and control the department budget, in accordance with Branch and Association budget guidelines. Review program schedules, capacity staffing and revenues to meet the community needs and YMCA mission. Maintain proper health and safety standards, in accordance with Association aquatics safety standards and guidelines. Know and understand all YMCA, state and local health and safety requirements, including Pool Safety Plan, Emergency Action Plan, Emergency Evacuation Routes and staff certifications. Collaborate and build relationships within the YMCA Branch, Association and community organizations, in accordance with strategic and operating plans. Maintain positive relations with participants, parents, members and staff. Serve as a role model to promote and demonstrate professional demeanor. Maintain all records, in accordance with law for pool maintenance, staff training and certifications, program member attendance and evaluation of participant skills, and Department of Health (DOH) requirements. Maintain certification level of physical and mental readiness. Responsible for recertification before expiration. Actively participate in training sessions, designated meetings and special events.  Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of three to five years of commensurate experience in a supervisory/management position. YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard certification or equivalent. Must obtain YMCA Lifeguard certification within 90 days of hire. YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certification or equivalent. Must obtain YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certification within 120 days of hire. Current CPRO,  Emergency Oxygen and First Aid certifications. Demonstrate swim strokes, lifeguard rescues and CPRO/FA/EO skills. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Northern Dutchess Aquatic Club (NDAC-MR)  is looking for qualified swim coaches for our 2019-20 season and beyond. Celebrating its 25th Season this year, NDAC is a year-round USA Swimming team for competitive swimmers aged 6-18. NDAC seeks motivated, experienced lead coaches for two practice groups:  (1) Group 1 Coach - swimmers aged 6-8 practices Monday, Wednesday and Friday 4-5 PM and Saturday noon to 1 PM.  (2) Group 3 Coach - swimmers aged 11-13 practices Monday through Friday 7-8:30 PM.  Ideal candidates should have a competitive swimming background and previous coaching or swim instruction experience (preferably at the age group level). Must be upbeat, energetic and highly committed to the development of young athletes, both in and out of the pool. NDAC’s 2019-20 season begins September 5th.
