Assignment Full-time, full-year position Regionally competitive benefits package. Starting salary range is $70,000+ with actual placement depending on experience and qualifications. Reports to the Superintendent   Note:  This position is not part of any collective bargaining group and the incumbent will be placed on an individual contract with the Minnetonka Public Schools.   Primary Objective of Position   Manage the entire aquatics activities of the community facilities. Coordinate all aquatics, swim club, and first aid and training programs. The five areas of focus for this position include safety, compliance, people management, program and financial management along with aquatic leadership in the community.    Job Responsibilities 1.  Manage the aquatics facilities in the Minnetonka School District  and surrounding beach areas within the District. 2.  Coordinate the scheduling of all events at the aquatics facilities. 3.  Supervise the Head Swim Club Coach, Head Age Group Coach, Lifeguard Services Coordinator, Aquatics Recreational Activities Coordinator, and Masters Swim Coaches, and Aquatics Office Assistant.  4.  Work closely with the Coordinator of Facilities Services in regard to maintenance, mechanical or custodial issues. 5.  Coordinate the purchasing, inventory and maintenance of pool equipment. 6.  Manage programs, clinics and classes associated with the facilities including scheduling registration and payroll. 7.  Work with staff to investigate and recommend strategies to effectively manage risk in aquatics facilities. 8.  Maximize revenue producing opportunities through traditional and non-traditional usage of aquatics facilities. 9.  Develop and monitor annual budget for aquatics facilities and programs. 10.  Coordinate with physical education staff and district administration on the use of aquatics facilities. 11.  Coordinate with the Anchor Club in the support of all aquatics activities. 12.  Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.   Job Requirements  1.  Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Sports Administration or related field is preferred. 2.  Minimum of two years of successful related experience, including experience in a supervisory or leadership role. 3.  Considerable knowledge of sports and recreational administration. 4.  Considerable knowledge of the equipment, facilities, operations and techniques used in a comprehensive community aquatics program. 5.  Ability to develop, coordinate, and direct varied activities involved in a community aquatics program. 6.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other agencies, participants, instructors, community leaders, and the general public. 7.  Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. 8.  Ability to plan and supervise the work of paid staff and volunteers.   *Note: It is possible to combine the Aquatics Director position with the girls’ and/or boys’ high school swimming and diving head coach assignments beginning with the 2020-21 season. The Salem YMCA is seeking a leader with a background in aquatics to manage the operations of our Aquatics Department.   The Aquatics Director is responsible for all aspects of the instructional and recreational aquatics experience. Located in the heart of downtown Salem, the Salem YMCA provides over 150 swim lessons to youth weekly, offers aqua activities for all ages, and is host to a local High School Swim Team.  Key responsibilities of this role include recruiting, retaining and transitioning swimmers of all ages and abilities through the programs and working collaboratively with the competitive team to achieve a successful conversion rate of instructional swimmers to the competitive program. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency of swim skills in accordance with YMCA standards and have a strong foundation in stroke mechanics. The  Vashon Seals Swim Team  is a Level 1 USA-Swimming Club on Vashon Island - located in between Seattle and Tacoma, Washington. We are a member of the Pacific Northwest Swimming LSC.  Our team is growing and we are in need of additional coaches. Ideal candidates will have a passion for swimming and working with young athletes in a fun and dynamic atmosphere that promotes camaraderie and personal achievement.  Our program is focused on competitive and non-competitive swimmers between the ages of 5 and 18, and we offer six different levels of instruction: Seal Pups, Stroke School, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Swim Fit (60 to 70 swimmers in total). We train at the  Vashon Community Pool  (6 lanes - 25 yards) and enjoy the best of both worlds with 6 months of outdoor swimming and 6 months of swimming under an inflatable bubble.  Vashon is a unique and breathtaking place and we are lucky to have a wonderful group of kids and supportive families. We're seeking a Head  Lifeguard to join our team. As our new Head Lifeguard you will: Supervise a Lifeguard staff of 20 – 25 Work 20-25 hours as a Lifeguard Administrative work 15-20 hours per week Schedule lifeguard staff Maintain certification records of all LG staff Help the Aquatics Manager with training Serves as the manager on deck during events and/or swim meets Maintain watch over the pool area ensuring a secure and safe environment Employ accident prevention by enforcing pool rules and regulations Respond to all injuries, incidents, and emergencies as directed by club policy Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the aquatics center Required Qualifications: Minimum of three years of Lifeguarding experience Minimum of one year of aquatics supervision Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification (basic level) Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification or the ability to obtain the certification within 90 days of hire Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree Five years of lifeguarding and/or aquatics supervision experience American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire Physical Requirements: Candidates applying for this position should be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted repeatedly throughout the workday  Frequent walking and demonstrating and assisting with exercise movements; bending, stretching, lifting, pushing, pulling and squatting are movements performed daily Ability to be in water for long periods during the day

We're seeking a Head  Swim Team Coach   to join our team. As our new Head Swim Team Coach you will: Be approachable and visible to all club members and all swim team families. Bring an enthusiastic and energetic approach to each and every practice. Develop strong, lasting relationships with all swimmers on the team and the lap swimmers. Assist in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training and supervising all assistant coaches. Assist with New Employee Orientations for all assistant coaches. Develop and lead weekly coaches meetings. Develop methods to track swimmers progress throughout the season. Develop a dryland training program and execute during daily practices. Keep current with research in aquatics related areas. Assist the lifeguards with the enforcement of pool rules and in helping lap swimmers find lanes available to them. Assist with the development and marketing of all Aquatics programs. Attend and assist running Aquatics special events and conducted at our facility as needed. Assist with the promotion our swim team both within the club (flyers, bulletin boards, swim instructor bios, signage on deck during lessons, member newsletter) and outside the club (website content, posting flyers, Community Fairs). Required Qualifications: Current Red Cross Lifeguard certification (AED, CPR, First Aid) or Coaches Water Safety and AED/CPR and First Aid. ASCA Level 2 certified or above. Current USA Swimming certified coach. Extensive experience working with children and teenagers. Strong background in competitive swimming. Must have at least two years of supervisory experience Preferred Qualifications:   Excellent verbal and communication skills. Strong service orientation and attitude; the ability to provide members, guests and staff with exceptional service in a friendly and professional manner. Superior communication skills Ability to relate to diverse populations. Enthusiastic, responsible and team-oriented. Physical Requirements: Exposure to variety of weather elements. Requires long periods of standing. Moderate use of computer terminal screen, right or left hand use, Typing. Grasping and gripping movements Ability to lift 50 lbs. We're seeking an  Aquatics Coordinator    to join our team. As our new  Aquatics Coordinator you will: Create schedules for  Swim Instructor and Aquatics Service Desk Staff Assist in new swim lesson instructor staff member orientation, staff training, and performance reviews Act in a leadership role in the absence of the Aquatics Director and/or Assistant Aquatics Director Assist members and non-members with registration for swim lessons and swim team programs Receive and process registration fees Supervise the  Aquatics Desk staff with organization, customer service and establishing best practices for the administrative side of all our Aquatic programs Assist with keeping members, participants and all club staff informed of changes to the schedule, cancellations, rentals and any other events Schedule additional staff when demands are high Highly focused on customer service and on improving the overall efficiency of the aquatics programs Take all necessary steps to solve member problems, complaints and concerns Other tasks as assigned Required Qualifications: Minimum of  1 year of supervisory experience Minimum of 1 year of customer service Minimum of 1 year of swim lesson instruction and building curriculum & swim team structure Minimum of 1 year of computer knowledge (Google calendar, Word, etc) Preferred Qualifications: 2 years or more experience in Aquatics Accuracy and attention to detail Strong knowledge of teaching progressions for children and adults Experience with Team Unify and/or other scheduling software programs Superior communication skills and the ability to relate to diverse populations Enthusiastic, responsible and team-oriented Current Red Cross certification (AED, CPR, First Aid, Coaches Water Safety or Lifeguard) Physical Requirements: Candidates applying for this position should be able to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds unassisted Frequent walking, sitting; bending, stretching, lifting, pushing, pulling and squatting are movements performed daily Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in extreme weather changes
