The Salem YMCA is seeking a leader with a background in aquatics to manage the operations of our Aquatics Department.   The Aquatics Director is responsible for all aspects of the instructional and recreational aquatics experience. Located in the heart of downtown Salem, the Salem YMCA provides over 150 swim lessons to youth weekly, offers aqua activities for all ages, and is host to a local High School Swim Team.  Key responsibilities of this role include recruiting, retaining and transitioning swimmers of all ages and abilities through the programs and working collaboratively with the competitive team to achieve a successful conversion rate of instructional swimmers to the competitive program. Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree or commensurate work experience. At least 21 years of age with 3-5 years experience as a competitive coach, preferably in a leadership capacity. At least one year of staff supervision experience including one evaluative cycle and demonstrated ability to positively develop and support exceptional performance. Current USA Swimming and or YMCA Swim coach credentials. Certified Pool Operator CPO, CPR, AED, Basic First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 3 months. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency of swim skills in accordance with YMCA standards and have a strong foundation in stroke mechanics. Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to relate to individuals and families from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Job Description The Hickam Hurricanes are looking to hire a reasonably experienced coach to join our team on deck! We will be undergoing a few changes in our staffing in the coming months and would like to get ahead of the learning curve. About the team: The Hickam Hurricanes are a non-profit military only USA swimming club. We are located on Hickam Air Force Base, right next to Pearl Harbor (if you are non military that is not a problem, as base access can be granted via sponsorship). Due to being located on a military instillation, our membership is limited to military only families which usually leaves our active member count to over 100 swimmers, depending on the time of the year. About the position: One of our coaches is moving away in the next few months so her position would be passed along to the best qualified candidate. We would prefer to hire sooner than later, so that said candidate has time to get acquainted with the groups and have an easy transition once this coach departs. The typical weekly schedule is: 3:00pm - 6:30pm Monday to Friday 7:00am - 10:00am Saturday As needed for swim meets Responsibilities: You will be directly in charge of both the Mini 1 and Mini 2 age groups, acting as a first line of contact for parents should they have questions and report to the Head Coach. Depending on current staff, you will be required to coach at least the Mini 1 group each day, but possibility of coaching Mini 2 as well on certain days. Once finished with those groups, you will switch over to either the Gold or Elite groups assisting one of the coaches in charge of those groups. This way you will get to know the majority of the team as well as get to coach all levels on the team. Experience requested: Since you will be covering a large variety of skill levels we are asking: At least 1-2 years coaching experience, especially with 10&Under age groups Experience with a USA swimming club Certifications/Registration as a USA swimming coach (if expired, renewal must be completed before first day on deck) Willingness to be flexible on a daily basis with what groups you will be in charge of Prior experience as a swimmer is not required, but it helps Salary: All coaching staff are on an hourly based salary. Northeast Houston Aquatics - NEHA is seeking highly motivated, experienced, and enthusiastic coaches to help develop our rapidly growing swim program. NEHA is a year round USA Swimming affiliated swim club located in the New Caney ISD Natatorium that focuses on technique and endurance training for all levels of swimmers ages 6-18. Job Description: Part-Time M-F: 5-8pm , Sat: 9-11am, plus swim meets and 1 one hour monthly coaches meeting. Experience working with children and large groups. Must have background of 3-4 years of competitive swimming, USA Swimming coaching experience, and/or minimum of one-year experience as a swim instructor. High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. Certification of CPR, AED, & First Aid preferred. Pay starts at $15/hr. depending on credentials and experience. USA Swimming coach certifications are preferred and will be required. The Fort Belvoir Swim Team is seeking (1) Full-time Coach and (2) Part-time Coaches. The Full-time position responsibilities are: On-deck Coaching approximately 30 hours a week; Administrative duties approximately 10 hours a week. Job Description The mission of the JCCSF Swim Team is to provide young swimmers with quality coaching that will help them develop and enhance their swimming and endurance skills. To create an environment where swimmers feel like they are part of a team and learn how to compete with the goal of putting forth their absolute best effort and regardless of the result feel confident and supported for that effort. The JCCSF Swim Team is a continuum of the JCCSF Swim School and Youth Athletic programs, providing young people the opportunity to develop life skills such as personal effort, integrity, confidence and teamwork.   The Assistant Swim Coach helps the Head Coach to create this experience. The Assistant Coach is expected to attend all swim meets, swim practices and team functions throughout the year and is also responsible for creating and maintaining a clean and safe environment for the swim team participants. The Assistant Coach also assists the Head Coach and Aquatics Program Manager with communicating with all swim team members as well as various swim team system functions including, but not limited to, managing team rosters, meet times and communications.   RESPONSIBILITIES Assist Head Coach in creating thorough, age -appropriate workouts focusing on technique, endurance, stroke development, drills, etc. Lead structured practice in absence of Head Coach Assist with practice on days with large team attendance Take direction and guidance from Head Coach Help to record all work outs and track daily attendance. Maintain a consistent presence at all swim team events such as meets, social events, meetings, etc. Engage parents and cultivate relationships to create a collaborative swim team environment. Assist in coordinating and executing swim team competitions and meet registrations. Record times at swim meets and assist in imputing into swim team system. Assist in swim team social event planning, as necessary Coordinate with other coaches on specific areas of expertise. Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment for swim team participants. Be committed to the mission and goals of the JCCSF. Additional duties as required. REQUIREMENTS: Experience working with children ages 5-13 years. 2+ years swim instructor/coaching experience. 2+ years’ experience as a competitive swimmer, preferred Must have current CPR and First Aid Certification. Strong verbal and written skills are mandatory as well as high proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.  Extensive customer service and public relations are required.   Coaching Policy Athletic/team Coaches are hired to instruct/teach specific skills where the coach is the teacher and the player(s) is/are the learner(s) and instill teamwork both during team practices and games.  Coaches are not hired to participate with the players during scrimmages or active play, or endurance/strength training.  

The Assistant Coach Position will report directly the Club Owner and Head Coach. Applicant should have a strong swimming background (competing at the college level preferred) and strong interpersonal skills with both children and adults. Applicants must be hands-on, detail oriented, and foster a positive attitude within the Club. Must be certified with USA Swimming as a non-athlete coach member, passing required USA Swimming background and coaching tests. Applicants must be able to travel locally (and occasionally regionally) for swim meets. Duties:   Primary Coach- Red Team, Secondary Coach- Black Team Provide Swim Lessons for additional compensation The Red Team consists of 3 groups. They are entry level groups and consist of kids ages 4-11. Red 1 is an entry level group with our youngest kids learning the basics of strokes and correct technique.  Red 2 is our second group and has kids that know the strokes, have the basic techniques and understand the rules of swimming. They are in the beginning stages of complex sets and are able to read the clocks.  Red 3 is our older swimmers that know the strokes, can comprehend and carry out complex yardage sets, read the clocks and are  preparing for advanced groups and/or High School Swimming.  Additional help with assisting the Head Coach in the advanced groups will be discussed with interview. Hours: Monday: 4:00-6:30 PM Tuesday: 4:00- 6:30 PM Wednesday: 4:00-6:30 PM Thursday: 4:00- 6:30 PM Additional hours will be available if needed/able. Expected to attend Swim Meets as primary Club coach if needed. Expect 6-8 hours per each day of the meet. We are looking for an assistant age group coach to start with our club May 2020. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, enthusiastic and good with younger, beginning swimmers. We are located in Farmington, NM.  We are a year-round competitive age group swim team. Our swimmers range from age 5- 18 primarily with varying levels of abilities. Hours would be Monday-Friday 5:45 pm-7:45 pm in addition to morning practice during summer months 7:00 am-9:00 am Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Some weekend travel to meets as needed. Assistant Swim Coach Watertown Area Swim Club – Watertown, SD Part Time – 26 – 40 hours per week depending on the week   The Position: Watertown Area Swim Club is looking to hire an Assistant Coach with the possibility of advancement.  Position requires a motivated and enthusiastic coach with knowledge of competitive swimming.  Requirements: Abide by the USA Swimming Code of Conduct, and WASC policies and procedures. The MAC (Multnomah Athletic Club) is looking for a confident coach with strong leadership skills to motivate and enhance our Novice program, who is passionate about working with 12&Unders, but is comfortable coaching all levels.  This coach is responsible for bridging the lesson program with the competitive program and developing swimming as a lifelong skill.  This coach needs to be able to have good decision making skills that are in the best interest of the athlete and the program and be able to create a safe and positive environment in order for our athletes to be able to reach their potential.
