Located in the heart of downtown Salem, the Salem YMCA provides over 150 swim lessons to youth weekly, offers aqua activities for all ages, and is host to a local High School Swim Team.  Key responsibilities of this role include recruiting, retaining and transitioning swimmers of all ages and abilities through the programs and working collaboratively with the competitive team to achieve a successful conversion rate of instructional swimmers to the competitive program. Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree or commensurate work experience. At least 21 years of age with 3-5 years experience as a competitive coach, preferably in a leadership capacity. At least one year of staff supervision experience including one evaluative cycle and demonstrated ability to positively develop and support exceptional performance. Current USA Swimming and or YMCA Swim coach credentials. Certified Pool Operator CPO, CPR, AED, Basic First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 3 months. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency of swim skills in accordance with YMCA standards and have a strong foundation in stroke mechanics. Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to relate to individuals and families from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Enthusiastic presence and ability to appropriately encourage and guide youth and adults to reach their goals. Job Description The Hickam Hurricanes are looking to hire a reasonably experienced coach to join our team on deck! We will be undergoing a few changes in our staffing in the coming months and would like to get ahead of the learning curve. About the team: The Hickam Hurricanes are a non-profit military only USA swimming club. We are located on Hickam Air Force Base, right next to Pearl Harbor (if you are non military that is not a problem, as base access can be granted via sponsorship). Due to being located on a military instillation, our membership is limited to military only families which usually leaves our active member count to over 100 swimmers, depending on the time of the year. About the position: One of our coaches is moving away in the next few months so her position would be passed along to the best qualified candidate. We would prefer to hire sooner than later, so that said candidate has time to get acquainted with the groups and have an easy transition once this coach departs. The typical weekly schedule is: 3:00pm - 6:30pm Monday to Friday 7:00am - 10:00am Saturday As needed for swim meets Responsibilities: You will be directly in charge of both the Mini 1 and Mini 2 age groups, acting as a first line of contact for parents should they have questions and report to the Head Coach. Depending on current staff, you will be required to coach at least the Mini 1 group each day, but possibility of coaching Mini 2 as well on certain days. Once finished with those groups, you will switch over to either the Gold or Elite groups assisting one of the coaches in charge of those groups. This way you will get to know the majority of the team as well as get to coach all levels on the team. Experience requested: Since you will be covering a large variety of skill levels we are asking: At least 1-2 years coaching experience, especially with 10&Under age groups Experience with a USA swimming club Certifications/Registration as a USA swimming coach (if expired, renewal must be completed before first day on deck) Willingness to be flexible on a daily basis with what groups you will be in charge of Prior experience as a swimmer is not required, but it helps Salary: All coaching staff are on an hourly based salary. Job Description The mission of the JCCSF Swim Team is to provide young swimmers with quality coaching that will help them develop and enhance their swimming and endurance skills. The JCCSF Swim Team is a continuum of the JCCSF Swim School and Youth Athletic programs, providing young people the opportunity to develop life skills such as personal effort, integrity, confidence and teamwork.   The Assistant Swim Coach helps the Head Coach to create this experience. The Assistant Coach Position will report directly the Club Owner and Head Coach. Applicant should have a strong swimming background (competing at the college level preferred) and strong interpersonal skills with both children and adults. We are located in Farmington, NM.  We are a year-round competitive age group swim team. Our swimmers range from age 5- 18 primarily with varying levels of abilities.
