Tidal Wave is looking for 2 part time coaches (approx. 10-15 hrs per week). We also need one or more lifeguards (approx. 20 hrs per week) 

The YMCA of Metro North is looking for a  Full  Time Head Competitive Coach  to bring their aquatic passion to the newly merged Swim Team.  The team will have three locations: Lynn, Peabody and Melrose.  Under the direction of the Association Aquatic Adviser, the Head Swim Team Coach is responsible helping our swimmers to realize what they can be instead of what they are, organizing and conducting practices, clinics, meets and other events for the YMCA of Metro North Swim Team. As their coach, your job is to set the bar high, inspire them to reach this bar, encourage them, and most of all, guide them in the best possible manner and in the most supportive environment. This newly formed team had 130 swimmer enrolled in the 2018 fall/winter season with room to grow.  This program is conducted in accordance with the missions and policies of the YMCA of Metro North, the YMCA of the USA, and USA Swimming. We invite our new coach to be a link to our storied past and the bridge to our successful future.   Qualifications A minimum of Lifeguarding (ARC) and CPR/AED/AEO is required. Coaching certifications from YMCA of the USA and USA Swimming. Certification from ASCA is preferred. Two to four years competitive coaching experience is required. Two years Head Coach preferred. Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent preferred. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to communicate recognized principles and practices of coaching young swimmers. Demonstrated ability to build a team of quality coaches. Great communication skills a must as well as supervision and public relations skills. Sexual harassment training must be obtained within 6 months. Additional certifications preferred: Lifeguard Management, WSI and/or Y Swim Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor, and Pool Operator. Essential Functions Contribute to and supervise the fulfillment of the YMCA Mission and character development values through the YMCA of Metro North Swim team program. Develop staff through supervision and development opportunities. Recruit, train, and supervise all level swim coaches, coach’s assistants, and parent volunteers. Recruit and oversee the Parent’s Association volunteers, attend monthly Parent Advisory meetings or arrange a coach representative. Assure that monthly all-parent meetings are held (this can include the spring banquet). Encourage recruitment of swimmers through YMCA swim lesson programs as well as other YMCA youth programs in collaboration with the Association Aquatic Adviser and the Aquatics Directors. At times, teach swim lessons and guard during low swim team times. Maintain and administer Team Unify Develop and maintain a recordkeeping system of the status and progress of each swimmer. In conjunction with the assistant swim coaches, prepare all meet entries assuring that every child swims in every meet they attend. Develop a schedule for swim team practices across multiple facilities, and develop competitive swim clinics each year. Update, maintain, and distribute the Swim Team handbook. Communicate regularly with the Association Aquatic Advisor and all coaches. Maintain communication and rapport with all swimmers and their parents. Demonstrate an enthusiastic attitude towards the team and provide a positive learning environment for all. Oversee the team unify website and other social media and ensure that it is kept up to date. Assist in the preparation of an annual budget under the guidance and supervision of the Association Aquatic Adviser, and manage that budget for the Swim team program in accordance with established procedures and expectations. Represent the YMCA of Metro North at YMCA regional events and trainings. Continue to develop and evaluate the USA Swimming program as part of the Swim program. Report any facility problems, needed repairs to the Facility Director. Evaluate all programs annually to ensure they meets the needs of program participants. Keep current with swim coaching techniques and issues. Membership in ASCA recommended. Keep all certifications current and monitor coaching staff to ensure their certifications are also kept current. Attend practice in each location each week. Other duties as needed. Cause-Driven Leadership® Competencies Staff Administration: Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, will assist in recruitment, hiring, training, supervising, motivating and evaluating swim team staff, as well as taking disciplinary action up to and including termination as needed. Program Development: Assist with the evaluation and improvement of the swim team program. Assist with the creation of new programs and new collaborations. Supervision: Supervise all assistant coaches, coach aids, volunteer coaches, and mentors. Complete reports, projects, and assignments as needed or assigned. Attend meetings and trainings as needed or assigned.   Required Certifications A minimum of Lifeguarding (YMCA or ARC) and CPR/AED/AEO is required. Coaching certifications from YMCA of the USA and USA Swimming. Certification from ASCA is preferred. Principles for YMCA within the first 60 days of hire Salary $45,000 - $52,000.

The Village of Shorewood Hills is accepting applications for the position of Pool Manager. This is presently a part time, year round position with seasonally adjusted and flexible hours. The position is responsible for managing all operations of the pool including staffing, purchasing, programming and mechanical functions including opening and closing. During the summer season, the pool employs about 70-80 individuals. The Village encourages a wide range of individuals to apply, including those with management, aquatics programming, and staffing expertise. Mechanical/technical aptitudes in maintaining a pool are desirable. The Shorewood Hills Pool is a 50-Meter, 10-lane, outdoor facility.  There is an additional wading pool with water features as well as a concession area and locker room facilities.  The pool has a diving well incorporated into the deep end, with two, 1-meter diving boards.  Our pool operates on seasonal memberships that are open to both Shorewood Hills residents as well as those from around the Madison area.  A typical day at the pool will incorporate open swim times as well as organized programs that include swim and dive lessons, swim and dive teams, water ballet, masters swimming, and water aerobics.  The pool is generally in use from 6:00 AM until 9:00 PM.  In addition, we host several events including such things as a water ballet show, a triathlon, swim and dive meets, and various membership events.    To apply complete a Village employment application, along with a cover letter, and resume. Head Swim Coach YWCA Tiger Sharks Swim Team   Location: YWCA Central Maine Lewistion Maine 04240   The YWCA Tiger Sharks Swim Team is looking for a Head Swim Coach. The Tiger sharks  team is a competitive program for swimmers ages 5-18+ years. We are a small but growing team of currently 40 swimmers who compete throughout Maine, in USA  swimming events! The head coach is responsible for screening/evaluating team members, helping swimmers develop goals, planning practices, scheduling meets, working with parent volunteers as well as providing on deck coaching at practices and all swim meets.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Organize and conduct practice workouts that are developmentally appropriate, well organized, and which demonstrate trackable progression throughout the course of the season. Develop a team culture that is focused on Youth Development, which rewards effort and commitment, not only results. Assist swimmers in developing, evaluating, and achieving goals. Schedule, organize, and administer home and away meets, making sure all necessary paperwork is completed in submitted on time. Remain current and educated with developments in the field of competitive swimming. Incorporate this knowledge via delivery of Tiger Sharks swim team practices, meets and special events. Work with Tiger shark Parents who may wish to assist the Head Coach with organizational and administrative functions such as officiating or fund raising. Keep families updated with team information through email and team Facebook page. Administer entering swimmers into meets,  running the team online store,  and marketing and recruiting for the team . Education Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Recreation Management, Physical Education, or other related field preferred. Must be a USA Swimming certified Coach At least 1 year of coaching experience lifeguard certification, first aid, CPR/AED This is a Part time, year round position. Starting pay will be $14 – $17 per hour. The Preserve Piranhas Swim Team, Summer League Head Coach Summary : The Preserve Piranhas Swim Team is a summer league team located in Greenwood Village, Colorado. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, experienced head coach with excellent leadership skills to further develop and expand our existing team. The Piranhas are a member of the Rocky Mountain Swim League (RMSL), offering a competitive swim program for ages 6-18 plus a developmental program for ages 3-6. The team is governed by the Preserve Piranhas Swim Team Board comprised of volunteer parent representatives. The Head Coach works with direction from the Board to manage daily swim team operations, while striving to inspire youth swimmers of all levels through practice and competition. The Head Coach will have the knowledge and experience necessary to enhance the competitive and social atmosphere of the Piranhas team. The swim season generally runs from mid-May through mid-July, with some meetings/communications required in the months prior to the season. Requirements : Competitive swimming background with solid knowledge of, and ability to teach, competitive strokes, starts and turns. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with passion for swimming and positive, professional attitude; energetic, enthusiastic and motivated. Excellent organizational and time management skills and knowledge of meet-management software. Ability to communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, Board, volunteers, meet officials and opponent teams. Completion of concussion training (per RMSL policy); Safety Training for Swim Coaches/CPR/Lifeguard certification preferred. Must be able to pass background check. Key Responsibilities : Contribute to and advance the team mission. Provide coaching to ensure swimmer development and promote team dynamics. Implement and improve on the existing program to attract and retain swimmers. Provide positive representation of the team locally, regionally, and nationally. Punctuality and reliability is expected in meeting job performance requirements, including but not limited to attendance, timeliness, and deadlines. Develop and lead seasonal training plans and stroke clinics. Incorporate dryland strength training to complement water training. Provide leadership to assistant coaches for practices and meets, team and individual development, and promotion of the highest standards of sportsmanship. Prepare advance daily practice plan for entire season. Ensure all coaches are prepared in advance for every practice and meet. Complete meet entries by weekly deadlines and coordinate with opposing teams. Review meet results (including DQs) and work with swimmers to inspire and improve performance. Plan team-building activities to create excitement for our athletes and families. Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of team banquet. Promote a safe, comfortable, professional, team-oriented environment and spirit of competitiveness. Possess passion and excitement for the sport of swimming. Under the supervision of the­­­­­­­­­­­ Senior Director of Competitive Swimming, the YOTA Age Group Site Coach is responsible for the leadership and direction of the YMCA’s Competitive Swimming program at the Chapel Hill N.C. site. They are responsible for managing these functions in accordance with the stated mission, goals, and policies established by the administrative staff, governing committees. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides vision, leadership, and management of the day-to-day operations of the successful, values-oriented YMCA of the Triangle competitive swimming program for our YMCA site that includes multiple age group levels. Recruits and hires diverse staff and volunteer teams across multiple dimensions of diversity.  On-boards and develops them for success. Provides vision, leadership, and management to the part time staff that includes coaching and leadership traits to ensure a high quality swim program. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. Leads implementation of open, clear, consistent and effective communication with athletes, parents, branch staff, volunteers and coaches. Abides by the YMCA of the USA Swimming and Diving, ASCA, and USA Swimming Code of Ethics. Serves as an ambassador to the community by actively promoting the YMCA aquatics and wellness programs. Maintain open communication with participants, parents, YOTA staff and all YMCA Aquatics staff members. Work with Senior Director of Competitive Swimming Team to establish annual program goals and work toward accomplishing these goals. Plan, prepare, and conduct team practices in accordance with program objectives, guidelines, and policies including attendance records, skill reviews and training plans. Prepare and submit all necessary information for swim meets and attend meets as assigned. Support the Senior Director of Competitive Swimming by monitoring the budget and adhering to the budget philosophy of the YMCA of the Triangle.
