Under the supervision of the­­­­­­­­­­­ Senior Director of Competitive Swimming, the YOTA Age Group Site Coach is responsible for the leadership and direction of the YMCA’s Competitive Swimming program at the Chapel Hill N.C. site. They are responsible for managing these functions in accordance with the stated mission, goals, and policies established by the administrative staff, governing committees. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides vision, leadership, and management of the day-to-day operations of the successful, values-oriented YMCA of the Triangle competitive swimming program for our YMCA site that includes multiple age group levels. Recruits and hires diverse staff and volunteer teams across multiple dimensions of diversity.  On-boards and develops them for success. Provides vision, leadership, and management to the part time staff that includes coaching and leadership traits to ensure a high quality swim program. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. Leads implementation of open, clear, consistent and effective communication with athletes, parents, branch staff, volunteers and coaches. Abides by the YMCA of the USA Swimming and Diving, ASCA, and USA Swimming Code of Ethics. Serves as an ambassador to the community by actively promoting the YMCA aquatics and wellness programs. Maintain open communication with participants, parents, YOTA staff and all YMCA Aquatics staff members. Work with Senior Director of Competitive Swimming Team to establish annual program goals and work toward accomplishing these goals. Plan, prepare, and conduct team practices in accordance with program objectives, guidelines, and policies including attendance records, skill reviews and training plans. Prepare and submit all necessary information for swim meets and attend meets as assigned. Support the Senior Director of Competitive Swimming by monitoring the budget and adhering to the budget philosophy of the YMCA of the Triangle. Assists in Annual Campaign by recruiting volunteers and supporting team events in coordination with campaign efforts. Other duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor. Assistant Swim Coach
Carolina Aquatic Team is seeking part time qualified coaches to work with our developmental groups as well as fill in for other practice groups as needed. The ideal candidates are energetic, knowledgeable, passionate about swimming, and able to communicate with parents, coaches and athletes. Carolina Aquatic Team developmental groups practice at the Orange County SportsPlex, Edison Johnson Aquatic Center, and Campus Hills Recreation Center in Hillsborough/Durham NC.   Minimum Qualifications: Previous coaching experience preferred (Summer League Swim Teams and Lessons are recognized) Ability to work, train, and instruct one or multiple practice groups from either 4:30-6:00 PM, or 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm Monday-Friday. Must be able to work weekends for swim meets averaging once per month. Strong swimming background and teaching knowledge Strong customer service skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Duties: Maintain full USA Swimming Coaching Certification at all times, must complete all certification requirements within 30 days of hire (reimbursement for certifications provided by Carolina Aquatic Team) Planning and writing daily workouts for you group(s) Attending scheduled meets Meet entries Contribute in Staff communications and discussions Track group attendance Opportunity: Compensation based on experience, achievements and other factors. Part Time Coaches & Swim School Instructors/Coordinator Needed
STAR Aquatics is currently accepting applications for Part Time Coaching & Swim School Instructor positions as well as a Swim School Coordinator. STAR is a year round swim program serving swimmers of all levels by offering programs in competitive swimming, non-competitive swim groups and lessons programs.  STAR Aquatics is a Level 3 Program in USA Swimming's Club Recognition Program and has a history of developing young athletes.  Our Mission: "Star Aquatics exists solely for the benefit of the swimmer. Our goal is to help individuals reach their full potential in life through swimming, sportsmanship, and team involvement. We strive to develop the person within the athlete." We do this through teaching and stroke development and most importantly valuing the importance of the relationship we develop with our swimmers. STAR is looking for individuals who are energetic, knowledgeable, ethical, and able to communicate with parents, fellow coaches and swimmers of all ages.
